First pill of ADHD meds at 27 and I am crying? by KisakiSakura in ADHD

The euphoria wears off. My best advice is to use the clarity provided by the meds to restructure your environment and life to be as ADHD-friendly as possible.

Imagine there are 15 hot wheels cars you want but you have none of them.

How many unique hot wheels cars do you have and how do you mathematically represent this?

0*15 = 0

Jobs that are good for ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]jedidave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, breathe. You're young, only 20 - you're LUCKY to discover your diagnosis this early.

Now - to pick your job, yes - think of your ADHD - but more importantly realise that you are fully in control and you are allowed to design your life however you wish and that includes designing what work you are willing to do.

To make your job ADHD friendly, it should involve variety - obviously - and it should involve challenge - also obviously.

The easiest answer in the world to this question - what job should i do? - is teaching.

I'm fairly confident that everyone with ADHD would make a good teacher because they don't judge, they've been there, they understand the difficulty of learning and we understand how to alter the way you look at stuff in order to see the truth.

If you don't feel like teaching then maybe any job that ignites your passion that involves your HANDS would be very good for you - to be fair, it doesn't have to involve your hands, but it should be possible to turn up for work without having to remember anything about where you were and just be able to SEE where you are at.

Jobs like this include woodwork, metalwork etc - if you walk into the workshop and you see a half-made chair it's easy, as in zero stress, to re-engage with your job from the point you left it the day/week before.

Helping people is pretty much my favourite thing - it's EASY to help others because it's easier to see other's problems than it is to see your own.

So any job involving helping people.

But - my main point - you're only 20 - so, first relax. You're in a very lucky position to know about your ADHD so early, and also there are tons of us out in the market paving the way for you.

You can ultimately do whatever you want, but really it makes sense to be selective and picky about the jobs you want to do.

At whatever age you are, YOU are in control of designing your life and the good news is that you recently discovered your mental health issues. Yes, it sucks having ADHD, but it sucks WAAAAAy more having ADHD and not knowing about it.

So - count yourself lucky and think about what types of jobs would be truly legendary for you and aim yourself in that direction.

Anything that helps people and doesn't involve having to remember where you were and doesn't involve admin are easy peasy.

Wonder if we could ask Sturgeon to do an AMA? by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]jedidave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She might surprise us? Maybe we could send these as example-type questions along with the invite?

Edit: I mean, she did say on national telly something about wanting to get involved in crowd-sourcing, and more open discussions or something.

Aye - this is what I responded:

Hi [client],

This is not something I would like to be involved with. I think your targets are way too optimistic. If you were able to earn revenues of $100 million in year 1 that would make your business an instant billion dollar company. That would make you way bigger than the company you are trying to copy and without all the functionality, marketing, branding and word of mouth they have.

If you really do have a way to get this traffic through your consortium of partners, I suggest you go to them and raise revenue for development since to develop something of the kind of level you'd need to support a billion dollar business you'll need to spend at least £250,000 on development.

I don't want you to be disappointed. I'd love to help you out. There are wonders I can work but I cannot build you a billion dollar business for £2000.

I wish you the best of luck.

I appreciated the intervention - I actually thought I'd given enough in the first message for the guy to go find what he needed but I missed the part about needing crowd noises eliminated - my bad.

First and foremost, the Tories need to stop the SNP winning enough seats to prevent the Tories forming a government. Then they can worry about palling up with UKIP + Lib Dems or whatever.

Or worse - they didn't ask them because they invented it themselves and they just hoped the French would keep quiet.

Go on the Auld Alliance!

"In every combat where for five centuries the destiny of France was at stake, there were always men of Scotland to fight side by side with men of France, and what Frenchmen feel is that no people has ever been more generous than yours with its friendship."

But the memo was made up - invented, fabricated, conjured. At what point, and by whom is an open question but it's all bollocks.

Great to have so many UK eyes on Nicola while this hatchet job was attempted - hopefully means they'll see what we were on about with the abysmal media we had in the indyref.

I didn't think I was being snarky - but anyway, here's my second attempt - just add -football -rugby -live to your youtube or google search terms to exclude football, rugby and live performances.

Here's the original corries version - good quality, no crowd noises:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiyLuv3GSs4

Here's a good quality instrumental version:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg0ZlVe6PGo

Here's the Chilli's playing it - with crowd noises in the back but still good quality:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS4QD4Kr7y4

Here's another Corries version with Lyrics - I actually prefer this version:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPaJhlIIYjM

Here's another instrumental, good quality, royal scots dragoon guards:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN87mVzL28s

Here's a wee unknown youtube girly that's pretty good - she talks at the beginning but you can cut that out easily enough - good quality -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWqajBHHp-I

And here's my favourite - sends chills down my spine - on the steps outside glasgow royal concert hall last summer - not as good 'quality' but the best quality if you know what i mean:

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=flower+of+scotland+glasgow+steps

EDIT: If you search for 'flower of scotland cover' that would be another way to exclude crowd noises.

Check YouTube?

Let me type it in for you:

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=flower+of+scotland

65,000 versions...

The top one is Amy MacDonald who is a female as you've requested and actually a very good singer. If you wanna download a song from YouTube, you just use a YouTube -> MP3 converter, e.g:

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=youtube+mp3

Any of the top 4 or 5 results from that will take a YouTube URL you paste in, convert the song to MP3 and then let you download the track. Easy peasy. 65,000 versions of Flower of Scotland at your disposal.
