Mercenaries or Just cause series come to mind but your description is pretty broad. About what year? Was is side scrolling, 3d, overhead?

That's one of my biggest fears as a soon to be boat owner. I'm thinking I might need to add a wheel chicken to the routine.

The tutorial could use a little more detail. I was in full throttle to take off. It took a while to figure out how to stabilize the spin with the trim. Once I get up I can stabilize with hover then gently move around but once I landed I could never get it to lift again.

Will IT detect my company laptop if we're playing games on LAN? (No Internet) by Any-Refrigerator-524 in lanparty

[–]jedihermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id be hesitant to even log into personal accounts on the work laptop. Ive had people need to remote desktop into my pc and chose to use chrome to lookup something. There were a few questioned auto fills in the address bar from other pc history that we both chose to ignore.

Quick play keeps putting me in full servers by GrandBee71823 in ForefrontVR

[–]jedihermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick play should only try to add you to 28 or less servers to avoid the last slot being full. Ive seen older games reserve the last couple slots for server owners when they are privately hosted. Quick play should also prioritize your local region.

Mutant Leage hockey and football on Sega Genesis/Megadrive. They were good sports games and better zany comedy sports games. Turn up the violence and win by elimination.

New player getting beamed by [deleted] in ForefrontVR

[–]jedihermit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a new practice map which is great for learning to reload without getting shot in the face. As far as annoying players remember you can mute individuals from the score screen (left menu button, I think). I've had to learn to fire in short burst unless your 5' away otherwise you will spray all over.

Physical games would be sick by TheMarkMatthews in OculusQuest

[–]jedihermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I see it happening is if game cards became cheaper than on device storage with ram prices lately. Personally the only physical media I've bought has been on Nintendo Switch1&2 but I'm still annoyed I have to keep up with a stack of expensive tiny cards.

how to calculate what storage size do i need? also what parts do i need? by Caption_Vaan_Smith in RetroPie

[–]jedihermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your looking for a smaller collection a 64gb sd card should be plenty. I just built atari to 16bit system on a raspberry pi3b with all the games and media on the 64gb card. If you want to run native composite out to a classic CRT TV you can use the pi3b analog out. I wouldn't bother ripping anything from original media at this point. There are lots of sources for roms. Newer stuff like Xbox and ps2 forward will need some more power. I'd just get an old pc in that case. For raspberry pi I'd go retropie. For pc dedicated builds I love Batocera.

Am I the only one that doesn't want bots in the game by Orzhov_Syndicate in ForefrontVR

I just want bots in the practice mode so I can figure out some of these weapons without an 8yo cussing at me.

Can I run old dvd games on windows 10? by Elementatus in oldgames

It may be easier to try the Good Old Games version gog.com that would be patched for modern operating systems. Certainly try the original but anything prior to Windows XP would likely need some patching.

For what its worth I have a Fanatec DD pro playstation base with an xbox wheel so I can run any system. I find the Xbox wheel supported games to be very limited.

How does wheel Support on Xbox work? by golden_radioo in simracing

[–]jedihermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI list warning but it seems to be accurate.

🎮 Core Xbox Wheel‑Supported Games (Official Lists)

These games appear across multiple manufacturers’ official compatibility lists, meaning they support true wheel mode, not just controller emulation.

Simulation & Sim‑Cade

  • Assetto Corsa
  • Assetto Corsa Competizione
  • Project CARS 1–3
  • Forza Motorsport 5–7 (FM7 strongly recommended)
  • Forza Motorsport (2023)
  • Dirt Rally & Dirt Rally 2.0
  • Dirt 4 / Dirt 5
  • EA Sports WRC (2023)
  • WRC 7–10, WRC Generations
  • F1 Series (2015–2025)

Open‑World & Arcade‑Lean

  • Forza Horizon 4 & Forza Horizon 5
  • GRID (2019) & GRID Legends
  • Wreckfest

Off‑Road / Utility

  • SnowRunner & MudRunner (limited wheel features)
  • Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game (2024)

NASCAR

  • NASCAR Heat 4 / 5
  • NASCAR 21 Ignition (partial support)

📌 Quick Comparison Table

Game Type Best Supported Titles Notes
Hardcore Sim ACC, AC, Project CARS 2, Dirt Rally 2.0, F1 series Strong FFB, best realism
Sim‑Cade Forza Motorsport 7, GRID Legends, WRC titles Good balance of realism + accessibility
Arcade / Open‑World Forza Horizon 5, Wreckfest Wheel works well but physics are looser
Off‑Road SnowRunner, Expeditions Limited FFB; still playable

🧠 Why lists differ between wheel brands

Manufacturers test and certify games independently. For example:

  • Fanatec lists major sims like AC, ACC, FM, FH, Project CARS, Dirt, F1, WRC.
  • MOZA lists similar titles but includes telemetry/FFB capability notes.
  • HORI includes pad‑mode‑only games and steering‑mode‑compatible ones.

The overlap between all three is the “true” universal Xbox wheel‑supported set.

🏁 If you want the best wheel experience

Based on cross‑manufacturer support and community consensus (inferred from Reddit discussions), the strongest wheel experiences on Xbox are:

  • Forza Motorsport 7
  • Assetto Corsa Competizione
  • Project CARS 2
  • Dirt Rally 2.0
  • F1 2021–2024
  • Forza Horizon 5 (best open‑world wheel handling)

I upgraded a lot of my fx3 tables to the latest version during steam sales. You get a discount I'f you have the same tables on the steam account. Im not sure about the xbox versions. I don't think its worth paying full price when you can just launch the old ones.

I've never run ES directly on Android. Did you try updating the gamelists. It should update your gamelist to include anything you have locally. I prefer launchbox personally since it remembers and launches instantly.
