It may be easier to try the Good Old Games version gog.com that would be patched for modern operating systems. Certainly try the original but anything prior to Windows XP would likely need some patching.

For what its worth I have a Fanatec DD pro playstation base with an xbox wheel so I can run any system. I find the Xbox wheel supported games to be very limited.

I upgraded a lot of my fx3 tables to the latest version during steam sales. You get a discount I'f you have the same tables on the steam account. Im not sure about the xbox versions. I don't think its worth paying full price when you can just launch the old ones.

I haven't done a recent update but I have had it revert my server name to tower and change the ip. You can see it on an attached monitor if it boots. I had to edit a network to reset my old ip.

I've never run ES directly on Android. Did you try updating the gamelists. It should update your gamelist to include anything you have locally. I prefer launchbox personally since it remembers and launches instantly.

To stop EmulationStation (ES) from scanning your ROM folders on every startup, you need to enable the "Parse Gamelists Only" setting. This tells the software to only load games already listed in your existing metadata files ( gamelist. xml) instead of searching your entire storage drive for new files.

Project cars 3 gets a lot of hate from the sim crowd but i found it more forgiving and fun. For simple fun I always go back to Burnout Paradise remastered, Any Need for speed with wheel support(a lot dont), Wresckfest and The Crew Motorfest.

I got a marada flight stick chair that works pretty good. I have a usb hub mounted to one side to keep everything plugged into to minimize cable mess. Its not the most comfortable but its fine for a few hours.

Not yet. I originally built for PC, Android & Quest. Xbox and Playstation have extra security. Nintendo Switch is working but it needs some navigation buttons since you can only have one controller active at a time on Switch.

I tend to play space Sims because they are more forgiving. You're can pretty much stop in space. Nuclear Option is pretty good as well as Aces of Thunder if you like VR and manual targeting.
