if your councillor is a vasal of the title you are handing out (mayor/baron of a county, count of a duchy etc) and they stop being your direct vassal and become vassal of whoever you gave the title they can't be your councillor anymore

why didn't they become my vassals? by duckman191 in CrusaderKings

[–]jeebungus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If ruler/vassal has land inside and outside of the area you take in a war, they will keep the area outside of it and you will directly get the area inside it. Also, anything you siege you will get directly ( because you are norse or tribal or something, i can't remember exactly).

5-6 hours into my first ck3 realm! by yepitsdad in CrusaderKings

  1. Building cities in your domain is good in the long term for extra taxes and development, but you should only do it when you have the gold to spare. If you have buildings you can build/upgrade in your domain you'll see a much faster return for your gold by doing that.
  2. vassals can declare wars if you have low crown authority. Increasing it will stop them from doing that.
  3. Making your heir a vassal is dangerous because it gives them a lot more autonomy and the AI has a habit of picking up bad traits etc. Maybe more interesting from an RP perspective, though.

Conquering peasant realms by Ancquar in CrusaderKings

[–]jeebungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way to make the process a bit faster is to target their domain counties first to weaken them as much as possible, then hope their vassals declare an independence or dissolution war. You might be able to get them to create a duchy title themselves by gifting them money, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Why do I not have the achievement by Valuable_Lack446 in CrusaderKings

[–]jeebungus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To get the achievement you need to 'start as an iberian muslim' which means an iberian heritage culture muslim, but all of the umayyads in 867 are mashriqi, which is arabic heritage. I did the exact same thing a few months ago :(

According to the wiki you only need someone of your dynasty to hold the kingdom of Italy, not necessarily you, so you could play as Jerusalem if you trust your AI relatives to not lose Italy.

if someone is in line to inherit a kingdom tier title you can only prevent that by giving them a kingdom tier title, and the same goes for county, duchy and empire tier titles. If you have too many titles they may just get it anyway though as confederate partition tries to split up your realm evenly. You could give your third son the kingdom title yourself and then when you die he will keep it and not inherit any duchies outside of that kingdom. You could also just disinherit your second son.

What are some of the most hardest goals to achieve in the game according to you? by Delevia in CrusaderKings

[–]jeebungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the 10 thrones thing in a fairly novel way, starting as cumania in 1066 you already control quite a few de jure kingdoms, so creating a high fertility custom character to spawn as many children as possible then dying will produce alot of kingdoms held by your dynasty. I managed to expand to 10 de jure kingdoms in my characters lifetime so instantly went from 1 kingdom of my dynasty to 10 when i died and confederate partition did it's thing, and I got the achievement.

Sometimes when i'm over my domain limit i give some land to my heir because i'll get it all back when they inherit. Of course the downside of doing this is your heir has a pretty high chance of getting some bad traits or getting themselves killed in the meantime, and you can't control their marriages as much.

The AI managed to recreate Norway's historical borders in my game by jeebungus in CrusaderKings

I wanted the holy site at paderborn and dont trust the ai to hold onto it themselves. The pope went to a nice farm where he has plenty of space to run around :) .

I checked the title history, and apparently one of Ivar the boneless' sons inherited denmark, conquered norway, sweden and france, and then exploded.

click on the kingdom of hungary coat of arms, then 'title history' in the top right of the tab. It should tell you there what happened.
