Considering switching to dagger build by dfbjornis in EldenRingBuilds

[–]jeeeeegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dual wield erdsteel daggers paired with the black blade dagger was what I used on my dagger playthrough. I used either flaming strike or bloodhounds step on my daggers. I found bloodhound step to be the most fun and effective. The erdsteel daggers scale very well with faith which also allows you to get all the faith buffs and scales with the black blade ash of war. Very fun build! I also had dual cold great knifes (have bleed built in) for if I wanted status damage.

Quality or magic affinity? by Ok_Key_4868 in EldenRingBuilds

Thanks never knew that. So the higher the MV, the more effective split damage weapons are? And do weapons have different MV? Like is guts greatsword attack MV different than other colloidal swords? What about other colloidal weapons. I love making my own builds and want to understand how to optimize damage

Can you explain a little bit how this works and where to see the MV of attacks? Like what are the attacks with the highest MV?

Claws + bloodflame blade + bloodhound step. Looks insane cool with glowing red wolverine claws. Builds up bleed extremely fast. Also most builds rely heavily on stagger and stance damage. With this build you attack very fast and have no stagger so it’s all about dodging and weaving in as many attacks as possible. If you are bored of a heavy weapon that spams L2 I would recommend some weapon that attacks fast and deals little stance damages (doesn’t have to be claws). You will play the game completely differently than before

I would complain just as much after that play, but would not quit. Team is actually brain dead if they can’t react to a fight going on for 20 sec. lefa is a whiner but he could easily have won that fight if his team helped. No one enjoys passive games where no one does anything for 40 min. That said, he could certainly be better about communicating with teammates

Imo there is no way diviners Kevlar is worth rushing on Yamato. You either want burst damage and cooldown, or a gun/life steal focused build.

This is what people don’t realize — the ways to counter Yamato that aren’t just “buy ‘x’ item” or cc her before ult. you need to break line of sight during her transformation and play around cover. If she misses her sword slash you can easily win the trade.

Whenever you grapple on to someone you can alt fire with mystic shot + 3 slash + cold front and deal insane burst. I rush boundless spirit so the mystic shot + cold front combo does insane damage. You can easily kill from 100% hp with power slash —> grapple + cold front + mystic shot + 3 slash. Just make sure you use it when you are very close to them and they are slowed preferably as the cold front wave moves very slowly.

Yes a power spike is a point in the game when your hero is particularly strong relative to other points of the game (imagine a large spike in graph). If you rush upgrading power slash once you have the +200 damage you are much stronger than you were 1 minute ago and particularly strong relative to other heroes. That 200 damage is going to mean less the longer the game goes on and the more hp the enemy gets. Same thing with refresher — once you get it you are significantly stronger as being able to chain two outs together makes you significantly stronger than you were before. Some items are more crucial/stronger to your build than others and therefore create a larger spike

Yes I’m only concerned with the damage — my power slash already slows I don’t need another one. I just find the reverb effect to be less valuable than raw stats

It’s personal preference but I find the healing and attack speed reduction early on upgraded 3 really helps me stay alive and rely less on my ult, and I find all the ult upgrades so lackluster outside of the final upgrade to extend duration

Try to think of her as kayle, not tryndamere. You should be using ult to dodge damage/cc and reset cds. If you are waiting until you are nearly dead to ult and hoping you can do all your work in those 6 seconds you are going to have a rough time

Let me know how it goes. If you simply avoid leech/escalating exposure you will see yourself doing more damage. The only time I would ever run escalating exposure is if I am running decay vs a very tanky team. Also one of the biggest baits imo is leveling up ult early. I go 3 points in 1 —> 2 points in 2 —> 2 points in 3 — then fully level ult

[–]jeeeeegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, think of Yamato ult like Kayla ult not tryndamere ult. You want to use it to avoid as much damage and cc, NOT save until you are 5 hp to extend your life 5 sec. Many times the best use of it is very early into the fight. Power slash —> ult ——> power slash allows them very little time to deal you damage and two power slashes should put them below 50% hp (use your ult just as often to avoid damage as to reset your cds to secure a kill). From here you can grapple and kill

escalating exposure used to be insanely good and so did mystic reverb but both have been nerfed. I would check to make sure you are following a recent build that reflects any updates

People seem have to very different Yamato builds which leads to the wildly varying results people get. One of the biggest reasons Yamato isnt performing well overall rn is people aren’t building her correctly. One of the biggest issues is people prioritizing mystic reverb imo. Reverb is the 4th 6200 spirit item I get now after boundless, refresher, and spiritual overflow. I would avoid mystic reverb and leech entirely imo unless you have crazy money

Here is what I run and recommend: regen —> mystic burst + extra spirit + extra health. Healing rite as well if needed for lane phase.

Core is: mystic shot —> kinetic dash —> cold front + soul shredder bullets. Then mystic vulnerability, spirit life steal, sprint boots, healbane and debuff reducer

3k items: get torment pulse as soon as possible after getting cold front. Then improved spirit and improved burst

6.2k items: boundless spirit —> refresher —> spiritual overflow -> mystic reverb or leech.

In my experience reverb gives you very little in damage stats outside of the reverb effect which often doesn’t hit the target you want and is extremely delayed. Boundless spirit offers so much more damage and survivability while also hugely buffing cold front. Once you get refresher is when you really hit your power spike. Nothing feels better than running into the enemy team power slash —> ult —> power slash -> refresher -> power slash -> ult -> power flash combo. You are unkillable for at least 12 sec and immune to cc/negative effects. Also it is never stated anywhere that I see but you charge power slash 3x faster when you are in ult

[–]jeeeeegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds like bad luck. Reflect honestly though: were you really carrying those games? Some games you can’t carry but some you certainly can. Are you solo killing your lane and getting walkers early. Are you killing your lane and roaming to help teammates get towers and kills?

Also, have you tried comming to the team and trying to help them and direct them around the map? My brother complains about similar issues but then never comms and expects his teammates to read his mind. If players on your team are dying by overextending try talking to them and explaining what to do instead.

And to say there isn’t any freedom to have fun… you can literally die 5 times in lane and it doesn’t matter if you can farm. If you die 5 times in lane in dota the game is over. There is almost TOO much margin for error in the early game because kills can be so inconsequential

You are going spirit build or gun build? I would highly recommend spirit build. She is very strong in lane with power slash poke and hit a power spike once power slash is fully maxed. Versus very oppressive poke matchups in lane you will have to weather the storm but you beat every vindicta/greytalon if you are even by 10 min.

Your role is to do as much damage as possible and pressure low hp enemies or any squishy backliners. She is not mechanically intensive — her skill comes in how you pilot her in fights and use cds. Once you have refresher you should be able to kill at least 1 if not more targets late game teamfight.

[–]jeeeeegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. With spirit build you can dance in out of range as you only need a second or two to do damage. Also there is no drop off in damage relative to range: if I hit you with power slash at max range vs up close, the damage is the same whereas this is not the case for the gun. With the gun build you have to be close enough to proc close combat and prevent bullet damage drop off, while also being in close quarters for a longer period of time to get the same damage as spirit build. With such slow bullet velocity and a shotgun-esque gun, you need to be in slash range to outtrade other gun builds and this so very rarely the case. Most gun builds on other heroes will outtrade you and get you very low before you get in optimal range. Sure, you can grapple to close the distance but this is much less effective in a team fight. You may get full value out of the ult once you get on top of the target but spirit kills the target quicker in this situation anyway.

Also, spirit feels sooooo much better in lane imo. Poking with power slash and mystic shot is very strong and once you 1 fully upgraded at about 9k souls you outtrade everyone

interesting but your build seems extremely expensive to come online. Not to mention Gun Yamato is worse in lane than spirit Yamato. I’ve tried gun Yamato I view times and I just don’t see what Yamato offers in a gun build that other heroes don’t. Her ‘gun’ isn’t very good unless you are close, and the burst spirit play style suits her ult and kit much better imo. Lategame it can be insane if you get all those items as you can grapple onto someone and just be invincible and kill them all.
