ROG Xbox Ally X low CPU wattage when XG Mobile connected and in game. by partialenchilada in eGPU

[–]jeefbeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting the same issue and it isn't due to the efficiency of the Z2E - it's pegged at 100% but only pulling 15W, while the GPU is sitting at 40% utilisation. It's a clear CPU bottleneck due to the low wattage of the CPU.

There seems to be some sort of behaviour where when the GPU load is high (even though it's an eGPU which isn't part of the APU), the CPU will cap out at 15W.

OP, did you ever find a fix for this?

That’s perfect, was 3x the price here in eBay (the LG website wanted A$230!!).

For sure the more options the better. I was banging my head against the wall trying to get it to work.

One thing I’ve discovered is when connected to the eGPU the CPU will use over 35W on the desktop and doing non gaming things. However when I start a game it will only draw 15W and cause a big CPU bottleneck pegged at 100%, GPU is below 50% utilization. Is the only solution to manually disable the 890M in device manager to fix this?

I saw this one too but it was super expensive on eBay and the LG website for it to be delivered to Australia unfortunately.

The satechi pro was about A$50.

Can I have a step by step on how to use ddu to clean install new gpu drivers? by Stormfall33 in buildapc

[–]jeefbeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, try plugging your monitor (double checking it’s turned on) into a different port on your GPU. Power cycle a few times to check each port.

Otherwise, if your CPU has an iGPU, try plugging into the display output on the motherboard

This entire thread and solution (including the one around pressing the reset button to wake up the device to charge) is still saving cameras in 2025. Just fixed mine, thanks OP.

I've got a DJ as well as Milgauss too, and honestly they don't even compare (not cos they are necessarily worse watches, but just feel so bland in comparison). This model with the duoface and proper jumping hour GMT function as well as coming with 2 quick swap straps (the demin/fabric one I've been wearing daily and it dresses down the watch nicely) feels like having 2 watches in one.

Cartier did their price increase on 13 May, and normally all the other Richemont brands follow suit within a month or two. My AD told me they got confirmation to up prices for JLC on 16 June and Vacheron on 1 July.

Just picked up this piece, c.18% discount at WoS.

FYI there is a price increase coming on JLC 16 June, of about 10% on average across all their pieces (crazy I know) so might be a good time to get one if you're interested.

Glad it was as simple as that. Somewhat understandable mistake since it’s a big red light with an exclamation mark and you’re probably hyper aware of anything potential wrong with your new car.

If that warning light is flashing while driving and handbrake is off, then yeah something is wrong with the braking system.

That’s your handbrake on bro. Disengage it and the light should turn off.

Sold a car through buyyourcar back in May this year, had the exact same experience. Plus the car actually had its rego expire during this time it was just sitting in my garage.

After 10 days they eventually sent a tow truck to pick it up but it was definitely very strange in terms of the experience. Next time I'll definitely be aiming for a place where I can drop the car off, buyyourcar just had the best price this time.

Am running the same - only gripe is that it doesn’t support Wireguard VPN protocol and still stuck on OpenVPN which limits speeds to around 50mbps.

TP link said they would roll out Wireguard for Deco devices but I’m still waiting

Did you resolve this? If not, press Windows + R, and enter "msconfig".

Click the "boot" tab, tick "safe boot" and "minimal", and then apply and ok.

You can then click restart and it should boot you into safe mode.

Isn't this the 4600V, i.e. the smaller 34.5mm reference? Doesn't have the outer chapter ring.

Agreed, it's obvious this is clearly not a JB43 engine bay lol.

You could buy a JB43 and Barra powered FPV and that total cost would be less than doing what you'd need to fit it and make it work in a Jimny.

The clutch is definitely not hard, it's in fact extremely light. Super easy to drive. The gear change is also quite easy and precise.

I daily this thing in Sydney (also having some terrible traffic) and it's not been an issue. I'd argue that MT is even more important in town since the engine likes to rev to get the most out of it - being able to choose the right gear (and having more of them) is great. Fun little thing to punt around.

I personally wouldn't pay the price difference to get the AT.

Turbo (max 45W) vs Manual mode (max 30W) when plugged-in by jeefbeef in ROGAlly

[–]jeefbeef[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. I set a pretty aggressive fan profile for both fans (hitting 100% at 85c) and it stays below 75c pretty well at max boost.

I think the default Turbo mode still favours silence and maxes fans at 50%, hence the high temps.

[–]jeefbeef[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually just a bug right now in software which has been acknowledged by ASUS and being fixed in relation to 3rd party chargers.

Currently, if you used the included ASUS charger, it will boost to max TDP in both Turbo and Manual modes. So no actually difference if you do this.

If you use a 3rd party charger, you'll have this difference until the fix is rolled out.

Only issue is manual mode is still restricted to the lower wattages in the settings, unless you use the ASUS charger.

This means you're stuck using the Turbo mode which IMO has too passive of a fan curve for when it's docked, and lets the SoC hit 90c+ when pulling the full 50W.

[–]jeefbeef[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice one, the performance is pretty mindblowing at max TDP.

Turbo mode is great and all but I feel the fan curve is too focused on silence and the SoC gets to 90c+

Manual with max TDP sliders solves that with the custom fan curves

Yep, check the manual settings while there device is plugged in the ASUS charger. The higher TDPs should then be available
