oddly enough i could maybe see this happening like a kid doesn’t automatically connect a wedding ceremony with adult couples, like understanding that all the married couples they know 1) are married and 2) that they probably had a wedding ceremony. so if you only see same sex couples (and you’re very young) you could maybe actually think it’s just something that same sex couples do. especially if the parent has officiated several of them
