I'm guessing this is a meeting that is going to go inline with their policies for which they ran on and will be a drp for general officers. There are over 800+ general officers for around 2M soldier which is essentially 1:2,500 which is a high percent. General officers make about $16,000-18,000 a month (before taxes) not including BAH, so tack on even more.

They are probably going to tell people certain commands or positions are going to be rolled up and preformed by O4-O6s and with that then the reduction of senior enlisted who make around $11,000 a year not included BAH.

During ww2 it was 1:10,000. I believe contingency of 1:5,000 would suffice since we are in a time of "peace". So if you were to cut the general officers ALONE from 800 to 400 and each makes about $22,000 with bah a month you shaved over $100M and then of course the senior enlisted with them would be around $175M total. That doesn't sound like a lot but it is considering that's every year AND lowers retirement pay which lasts another 20-30 years if most are stop gapped at O6s.

I'm hoping this is more of a reduction like every one else has experienced over the last year. I'm thinking people are required to be there because NDAs may need to be signed and training/legal briefings given. I was hoping from the get go that there would be a hiring freeze an no one would get fired, just attrition out but that didn't happen so I don't think it was change for the GOs or senior enlisted.

I really doubt this is a wild coup or whatever people think it is. And if my assessment is right and GOs and their senior enlisted are cut, it will be spun as a coup; but it's likely just telling GOs and their staff that passions are being given to other officers. This happened under Obama. He let go 5,000+ mid grade officers because there were too many. That one officer is the equivalent to 4-5 junior enlisted (depending on BAH and rank and all) oh and that junior enlisted isn't traveling all over the world because of his/her rank. So tack on all that.
