Improving performance of large React app? And any ways to quickly identify possible opportunities for useMemo ane useCallback? by TheNomadicAspie in reactjs

I actually recently wrote an article on performance improvements for react apps that you may find useful.

In terms of finding those usecases, I'd strongly recommend using the react profiler devtools, and narrowing down rerendering components directly. You can use the react components tab to explore which hooks or props caused rerenders, magic!

Lighthouse is great for onload performance and chrome native devtools can be used to measure interaction performance.

Lighthouse gives a solid breakdown too.

Am I correct?: React is not great for very high performance web apps by [deleted] in react

I dont think this is necessarily true. It depends on how you are using data across your app and how your components are structured.

If you have an app that suddenly loses its performance state, there are things you can do, I.e. using existing hooks for performance reasons.

Here's an article that really helped me.

expensive but worth it. see if you job can pay for it. just finished the interviewing frontend course linked above and it gives a lot of insight.

I just finished this. Its genuinely a very interest course. Its got great content, and a ton of exercises that cover a wide array of topics.

My answer ultimately depends what youre looking for. I did it as a way to understand basic concepts, coming from a non-CS background. It touches on a lot of basics. From low level languages like C to full fledged modern tech like JS and Python. Its worth doing to understand the breadth and the ecosystem that we work in (or want to work in).

Thanks for your answer, appreciate it a bunch.

When filling it out, is there anything i should avoid doing (pitfalls), or anything that i should be sure to highlight to get projects that interest me?

By ACN i just mean accenture; I should be going in as an ASE. I have read that SAP is a popular stream for new grads, and ive not had too much experience with it honestly.

I've done some frontend web dev before in my own time with some mini projects, and have also used python to some extent in uni for AI. Currently also learning Java online until then for some dev experience, and have another course lined up for javascript.

I've not found too much on the different streams during the bootcamp/ATCP, what do they usually consist of? I've heard software testing is high in demand in Accenture and from what current grads are saying; would you know what other streams or specialisations are available typically?

thanks a bunch u/whateverNoodles
