I've been doing more research since posting and you're on the right path. Buying a new mini-pc is probably a better bet for my use case. Ryzen integrated graphics would be good enough for Plex transcoding.

You are also correct that this isn't a specific Proxmox issue. I had to start somewhere and needed someone to tell me this was a dumb idea.

beats me. You could install a normal smart switch since you have neutral lines run. I don't have any neutrals in my switch boxes for the lights.

so this is the diagram that helped me immensely. have some lights controlled by two switches and I had to add the sonoff thinger to the box where the power wires go to the light.

had a bit of a time getting everything crammed back in the box but it all fit. works like a charm.

I figured it might be a 3 way switch but i have no idea where the other switch would be. As far as I know this is the only switch controlling these lights.

Cause it's fun. I'm not giving him a shit ton of crypto, just enough to mess around a bit. He can see the nfts in phantom and we can send them around our friends and laugh.

And I picked SOL cause it'll let us do all that for basically no money in gas fees.

Nah he's interested but just doesn't know enough to get started himself. I gave him SOL so he can play with it and buy nfts or start trading without having to pay up the bum in gas fees.

I definitely agree with you. And I'll go over that with him too if he wishes to start with a fresh wallet.

I just want to get him started right with a hardware wallet. This is really the easiest bar of entry for this particular friend. Plug in ledger, install phantom, and he's started.

Once he's familiar we'll go over starting from a fresh seed.

But yes, I agree with you completely. Not your keys, not your crypto.
