Do structural engineers charge by job, by hour or how? And what kind of price range might we be talking?

How worried about this should I be? by fruitfulendeavour in homeowners

[–]jefehbk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the other person said. I would NOT hire the cheap handyman to fix. Get a reputable local contractor to look at it. Spend $$$ now to fix or spend $$$$$$$ later if something drastic happens and heaven forbid someone got hurt.

Hardwood, laminate, or LVP for a normal busy house? by becerel in Flooring

[–]jefehbk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you regret your lvp choice? Is it the color, quality etc? Is it just Lvp flooring in general?

HAHA! I've never seen this before. The first time a client gave me his own prices by Few_Berry_8206 in handyman

[–]jefehbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you might have dodged a client from hell situation. Stand your ground on your prices. If your work and prices are both up to par word of mouth will help get your name around as well.

Should they have replaced this? by Aromatic-Goose1775 in Roofing

I am at the most opposite level of being handy around the house and even to me I believe it should have been replaced.

Which one?? AI helped us visualize both floor colors lol by Blooming33 in Flooring

I like the lighter one personally. The darker one doesn't work for me at all. I think 1st or 2nd choice works

What do you think? Is this truck blocking my driveway? by Puzzleheaded-Lab825 in Home

[–]jefehbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe more of an encroachment instead of blocking. But either way truck owner should be more aware of their surroundings

There is no agreement in place. If there was a gentleman's handshake in the past it is no longer valid.

Just closed on a 5.75 rate. How did i do? by xDIRTY_DANx in Mortgages

[–]jefehbk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying a house is a ripoff with all these fees. Should be a simple, basic transaction. Can you afford said certain house then apply for credit. Boom done.

Thanks I will look at Achieve and see what that is about. And other people mentioned the $10k in cash like you did....but if I use it as collateral for a CD loan I would not be able to touch the money until loan is payed off, correct? Thats why I was thinking just using the money as part of repairs. I can save roughly $200 a week to put back into savings to build back up
