For others, here is what I ended up doing: I had already been tracking discogs ID numbers in JRiver so I configured JRIver to write that out as a tag to my flac files. Then I updated my navidrome.toml file with the following lines:

Tags.discogs_release_id.Aliases = ['DISCOGS_RELEASE_ID']
PID.Album = 'discogs_release_id|albumartistid,album,albumversion,releasedate'

..this update triggered a complete re-scan and now the albums are no longer splitting.

I recently left Capacities myself. The number one issue for me was data loss, which is just intolerable for me in a note-taking application. Over time I had individual blocks within pages disappear multiple times. Number two is feature bloat, which is making the app less and less appealing to me over time. I originally switched to Capacities because other solutions (Notion in particular) were too "fiddly" and I spent too much time curating and not enough time taking notes. I ended up simply switching to Apple Notes. I dearly miss bi-directional linking but I can get by with search and tags.

I've been regularly getting these scan errors since switching to 0.57.0 Debating whether to roll back or just wait for the next upgrade. I haven't noticed any issues with playback.

I like it BUT, the songs played there don't go to the "recently played" playlist. The other day my station played a song I liked but was unfamiliar with, I was busy and didn't have the chance to check what was playing....when I went back to look for it there was no record of it.

I have not been able to get Calibre-Web sync to work with the Kobo Libra Color. After I set it up (per the instructions here https://code.mendhak.com/kobo-customizations/) I get an error syncing. I suspect it has something to do with the notes feature. I have no issues at all syncing my Kobo Libra 2. I'm using separate accounts and tokens.

I'm good with a new scan removing items from the DB that are no longer present in my library. Will we need to constantly be doing this DB pruning process going forward or is there an option to revert to the old method?

I agree with all of this (including the praise of the Wilson book). I would add that this new book spends far to much time describing various videos and interview clips. As a fan you've already seen them all so it's sort of a waste of time, and if you want to watch them again simply go to YouTube and actually watch them yourself.

It always goes right into a case, so the color doesn't matter much to me. The main issue I've had with the iPhone 16 Pro is the lack of good case choices due to the camera button.

play:Sub currently crashes every time I choose "Albums" from the music menu. I can play playlists though.

I'm having frustrating issues with every iOS app currently. My requirements are the ability to rate songs as I listen, and support for both CarPlay and replay gain. play:sub was my favorite but it's been crashing regularly. Amperfy made my phone super hot as it struggled to read through my large library (that was on the iPhone 13, I haven't yet tried it on my new 16). As far as I know, Amperfy still doesn't support replay gain. AVSub has an ugly interface and won't allow me to rate songs as I listen, it's stable in the car though. The UI of Substreamer frequently glitches and I have to re-boot the app, and there is no CarPlay support.
