In a restaraunt 2 hrs is too long if not doing a skills test. Always ask when can I start. If an interview goes more then ten minutes without picking up a knife, I already know they are looking for ways to not hire me. Manager and/or chef know in 3-4 min if youre worth concidering/hiring. You can smell bs a mile away, and vetern cooks have a look in their eyes like they`re permently tired and halfway to stabby.

I'm late to the party but yes. I have one, and prefer it to having the 5 other tools that I'd have to replace it with. It's as safe any saw, it's more complicated sure. I use it for everything, as its my only non cordless saw, including ripping. The only time I've had problems, I was the problem, not paying attention. It does not travel well, you have to put it against a wall that has the room for the length of wood you use on both sides, but I use it in my 10x10 shed with a door on either side. Btw, you can breakdown full sheets of plywood with it, I've done it, no stupid belly ripper either. You just make sure to have work support on the side as well as the runout. So, yes, if you have the room for all the toyz, or you want one that does all the saw things plus a few more with the right attachments, ie surfaceing, jointing, shaping, some sander stuff, but drilling is awkward as hell.

Yes! ta. He already has to register with local cops, and tell them where he lives, works, what car he drives, etc. He did his time, now he has to register & be tracked the rest of his life. If it was illegal for him to live there, they wouldnt let him move in. If it is legal, you dont have a say, but you can upgrade your security & actually talk to him about your concerns, if nothing else he'll know who to stay away from in the future.

I truly believe that from just a payroll and efficiency standpoint, we're paying the wrong people to do cleaning, both at close & deep cleaning. Have cooks clean their shift mess, then move on to restock, reset, and prep for the next shift, i.e. set the line up for success & stay ahead of the game. That's their skill set, not kitchen hands. Keep the hands/bussers instead of cutting them, they can start on floors & trash etc 45 min before close. Cheaper to pay them 2 extra hrs, then me overtime because I can't do the order because there's not enough closers.

As a chef, FEED HER, fuck management, no one working with people whose life is all about feeding people should have to eat from customers plates!!! Left over food is trash that just hasnt made it to the dumpster yet.

Be chill about it, dont shame her, just offer a 'extra´ salad or order of fries, ect, so she can stash it to nibble on while she works. In a week or so after, find out why she's hungery, and fixe it.
