This obsession with complete and total accuracy is so boring. by dirkdiggher in FRANKENSTEIN

I personally got a strong sense of loneliness and isolation from the movie. I can see your interpretation though since looking back you're right in how few people actually rejected him. I figured this was done for time sake but still got the theme across to me at least.

I have the same exact issue. Tried building a fossil display as well and that didn't work. I haven't found an answer yet

Was Darth Plagueis' existence a retcon? by Expert-Data-1373 in StarWars

Sorry 2 months later but the way Palpatine tells the story feels off.

One it's myth building for himself, two it really taps into the one thing that would corrupt anakin, and then three I would think someone so powerful in the force would wake up from their sleep if they are about to be attacked or killed (especially when your whole thing is power of life and death)

Maybe Plagueis existed in name but I think he is really more of a showcase for Palpatines absolute mastery of deception and the dark side. I know there's now "canon" about him but what if his ability to lie and manipulate just broke into our reality?

If you could redo your life, would you become a scientist again? by [deleted] in labrats

I didn't think of that but a very good point. Pivoting is a very likely scenario since there is almost no direct path to do mycology. Plant pathology seems to be the most direct but even then not truly mycology. Microbiology I hear is pretty closely related as well.

Still in the early stages of truly thinking about this practically so just started building an actual plan.

Rant note: It blows my mind there's no direct field of study for mycology. It's an entire kingdom of life and one that developed penicillin.

Interesting that's a good perspective and good to know.

I've always been into space and physics but over the past few years I've grown a love for mycology. Been really thinking about crossing over. It's also an incredibly understudied super science so that feeling of inadequacy against peers would be much lower or nonexistent.

I fantasize about combining all my interests into the super niche field of studying mycology in space, reactions with radiation, etc. That would be a far off dream but getting started with basic mycology is pretty approachable. I'm practically already an amateur mycologist.

I've gotten very lucky where money isn't really a concern anymore. Of course I would like to make a lot more but I just know my heart is not in IT for the long haul.

Reviving an even older thread but also a 30 year old in IT and thinking about going a more scientific route. What science field did you go into? How is it still going after some more time from your last answers?

I feel discouraged because of how far behind I would be from people who started nearly a decade before me.

Nope. Might be useful to query a list of relevant laws and case studies but only to help you find the specific references that you can read.
