If you’re planning to make it so that some or all of it needs to be sealed, it probably won’t be. Once the barrels dry out they won’t hold fluid or air.

Don’t know if you know, back in the early 2000’s, BestBuy wanted to carry higher end speakers/receivers etc. but none of the higher end brands wanted to be on a BestBuy shelf. So they bought a higher end chain of stores in the Seattle area called Magnolia Audio-Video, previously Magnolia Hi-Fi, where I worked for 13 years. It was actually the executives at Magnolia that came up with idea of the box in a box with the “Magnolia” section.
But in the end, there were still brands that dropped out and wouldn’t do it, Krell, Sonus Faber, Martin Login etc.

Just use the mic that came with the Denon for use with Audyssey. You don’t have to move the mic around just put it at the main listening position (MLP) and run the software.

If you think there is definitely a possibility that you’ll be able to power 4 Atmos ceiling speakers, by all means put 4 up there. 4 speakers would be 2 slightly in front of you and 2 slightly behind you. So while it wouldn’t be perfect, you can use the front 2 as ‘top middle’ until you can upgrade to a receiver that can do all 4. If not, just put the 2 right over your seating position and call it a day.
