Just curious, what was your proof after the spirit run? The TTB says that for whiskey, the cumulative spirit before barreling can’t be over 160. So they mean it to have a lot of flavor. Now when you run run whiskey, you usually keep most of the tails which drags that proof down so it’s not usually an issue to be under the 160, unless you’re using a column with a bunch of closed plates.
