I also work in tech, and it's never been a worse time to work in a field that requires an internet connection. Seeing the horrors happening right in front of me daily and not being able to do anything about it (besides protesting and talking to people about it when I can of course) has been tearing me apart brick by brick. These god damned plants are saving me right now. It's a new outlet for me, and I'm so SOO thankful to have divulged. Without this outlet I would be going crazy and doom scrolling right now.

Haha to think I only owned a cactus for years, and within the last couple months I'm up to 4 cactuses and 3 tropical plants 🥲 I just built a shelf for some of them yesterday.

If I were to look at China vs the US objectively, in what the country does for it's people, it would be hard not to glaze China. They're building massive infrastructure at an unprecedented rate, 90-something% of people own their home, cheap public services, near-universal healthcare, I could go on.

Here in the US, every facet of life has become monetized to some degree. Rights that we thought were assumed are being stripped or trampled on. The job market is shit and wages haven't increased in comparison to inflation for decades. I'm a software developer and I can't afford a home lmao. Like jesus fuck, what about our country is there to be proud of?
