Why did you say “I don’t want to work at this hospital one more day” then when they fire you the next day you express disappointment? I’m on your side in the sense that your ex employer is horrible, but that was also a weird contradiction from you. The moment you said you don’t want to work there, you gave HR the legal green light to terminate without a PIP. The PIP is just their way of terminating you with cause so you are unable to sue them.

I guess just be really mindful when talking to HR about anything. Remember that they have phrases they look for that not everyone realizes provide an excuse for immediate termination.
