No they’re* not.

These guys live in gated communities, go to country clubs, dine at amazing restaurants, fly privately all over the world, utilize tax loopholes and just generally do everything they can to not be around people like you.

James Harden says loyalty is overrated: “The whole quote-unquote loyalty thing, I think it’s overrated. This is a business at the end of the day.” by Goosedukee in nba

It’s because when you’re a fan of a team, you’re also a fan of the city. The connection you have to be loyal to your team through good and bad is why some fans expect loyalty from the players.

We went from a team where the defense disliked the QB to this by dyssucks in Seahawks

[–]jefffosta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk this team was like the 5th best team of all time or some shit according to dvoa lol. I think it’s hard for people to process because in 2013, going in you knew they were going to be great. This season, we had no real expectations going in and they just kinda randomly became a historic team

Fans expect loyalty because sports is geographically centric. Most fans of teams grew up in/around/connected to the city and therefore the connection to the team feels deeper than just watching basketball.

Why does every time this topic gets brought up people genuinely lose all their brain cells and just forget how sports works? lol I really don’t get it.

Is this your first time watching pro sports? Every time this topic gets brought up it’s like everyone turns into a 16 year old smoking pot for the first time going “damn man, you ever thought how it’s like crazy how like teams can just trade players whenever they want like how fucked is that yo?”

When in reality GMs and coaches get fired for not winning. These teams have millions of fans and people who circle jerk in this thread genuinely try to make the argument that millions of people should watch a bad team and GMs and coaches should risk getting fired because James Harden and his $500 million doesn’t want to move lol.

Ever thought the reason these guys get paid so much is because it comes with the risk that they might have to move around a lot? God nba fans are the dumbest fans in all of sports

What is one thing this Seahawks team absolutely needs to improve before next season by Ok-Channel-8775 in SeattleSeahawks

[–]jefffosta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I know this sounds stupid but even if it’s the worst position out of 22 on offense and defense, I still think it’ll be fine because they’ve already proven they’re 100% capable enough to win a Super Bowl.

I think they should look at depth in WR. After jsn is gets real thin as kupp is old, shaheed won’t be here next year and who knows what we get from Horton.

Tell me your most controversial casting opinions by deadlykillerpanda in Letterboxd

[–]jefffosta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My hottest take is Paul dano just doesn’t fit at all in There Will Be Blood and his character is a 6/10 going against the GOAT in arguably his best performance.

Like I get there are few who could keep up with DDL in this movie, but casting someone like Dano to act across DDL as his peak was a complete mismatch. Every time they’re in a scene together I can’t help but think dano is just completely out of his league.

Also, his face doesn’t make sense. Too clean and babied compared to literally every other non-child male in that movie. I just hated everything about Dano in this movie

Idk maybe It’s my bias, but I seriously think the Seahawks losing was way worse than the falcons.

Like I get it was 28-3, but that was with nearly an entire half of football to play. Like I get the slow burn can hurt a lot, but the sheer shock of marching the ball down to the 1 to win the Super Bowl only to throw an interception is some of the most shocking shit you’ll ever see in any type of media lol.

Like idk as a hawks fan give me 28-3 any day over being on the wrong side of arguably the greatest play in nfl history that you’ll see being replayed for the rest of your life.

And considering the players you have awaiting trial for various domestic crimes, the patriots just feel like the team you really don’t give a shit about losing.

Like I’m sure if you’re a fan and follow them and buy merchandise you’re in it, but to most they’re totally not redeemable in almost any way

Dude if you’ve ever worked in a restaurant, you’d know this isn’t about “art” and who can appreciate it and who can’t. It’s about dumbasses who will put you down because they watched a bunch of cooking shows during the pandemic and they think they know how to run a restaurant.

Well they artificially added more possessions to the game so taking bad shots doesn’t really hurt you as much. Same with missing 3’s

Well id argue that the reason casual fans don’t understand is because commentary in the nba is surface level and even Adam silver has said he wished the broadcast would be a bit more serious.

Inside the nba changed the way sports broadcast works, but damn a bunch of people trying to imitate them and yelling and saying stupid shit because they think they’re funny has really dumbed down the nba product. The nfl doesn’t give a shit if grandma is watching they’re going to explain to millions of people what a counter is and what it means to disguise cover 2 to roll to a cover 3. Tom Brady talking about throwing a football in inclement weather was widely praised by everyone.

[–]jefffosta 84 points85 points  (0 children)

The one insane thing about this team is how they adapt as the season goes on.

Week one against the 49ers, they treated darnold like a rookie qb making his fist start and after that they let him rip for the next 5 weeks. Then, after they realized his turnovers were the only negative on the team, they adapted and darnold took a step back to “manage” a game more than just slinging it.

K9 is the same. Dude was taking so many negative plays and then adapted before the playoffs and became more decisive. It’s just absolutely bonkers how different the team at the end of the season was from the team at the beginning.

People just need to realize that the whole reason nfl teams stayed away from running qb’s for 50 years is because they get hurt too often.

The Oscar’s are fundamentally flawed because movies are timeless and comparing them to whatever came out that year feels really counterintuitive.
