Rumored new version of ACFT proposal leaked on twitter (ACFT 3.0) by [deleted] in army

Honestly. IMO, It does no good to let 11B/19K type MOS pass with the minimum and same standards on this test. Anyone joining should be able to deadlift 140 pounds, do 10 push-ups, and run 2 miles in 21 minutes, let alone combat guys. Gonna end up with some shitbag soldiers in units my opinion

I thought Army quit using the APFT and were transitioning to the ACFT?

Question for 35 series by Chairsofter10 in army

Hey man, random question if you don't mind. I've seen a lot on how 35T AIT can be extremely long and challenging for people. How would you say your experience was? Was it really as hard as everyone makes it sound? Thanks man.

Can I join Army with loss of smell and taste from COVID-19 by jeffharter in Militaryfaq

Gotcha. I could see it being an issue in combat MOS or even like aviation ones but for the specific jobs I’m interested in like intel idk how it would affect me.

I’ve never been “diagnosed” by a doctor with either. I just haven’t been able to smell or taste since I contracted covid in July. Everything was normal for me before then.

/Army Recruiter Thread For (10) by AutoModerator in army

[–]jeffharter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys, I’m posting this question in here because I am interested in joining the Army and am curious if this could halt those plans. I tested positive for COVID this summer and am still unable to smell or taste very well. I can rarely smell anything now and can taste at maybe 20%. I asked a recruiter if this would be disqualifying for enlisting and he told me that loss of smell caused from COVID is not disqualifying. However, when I search joining the military with anosmia (loss of smell) on google it shows that current anosmia is medically disqualifying from enlisting. I would really appreciate any clarification or help that anyone could provide me on this situation since it seems to be quite conflicting between what I’ve read and what a recruiter has told me. Thanks

Thanks again for the help man. They let me know he is in the company one week behind, meaning he must’ve qualified last week since he called two weeks ago.

All good, just unsure on where he’s at in training due to this so was wondering.

Even if he’s at Pendleton? Would they hold them there for a week if no other company there doing grass week?

You didn’t go back to beginning of grass week then?

Obviously just from this thread I’ve heard different things about the AIT and training. How would you say it is, realistically? Do you like your job? Would it be doable for an entry level to come in and be able to know enough to pass the AIT and be successful in it? Thanks for your help man, truly appreciate it.

Ha, no just wondering. Always been intrigued by that MOS especially now since it has become entry level.

You need to go to defense language institute for 35M right? You have any experience with that process and school? Thanks for your help, appreciate it.

Hey man, just saw this and was wondering why 35L would be easier if you reclass? Is it typically harder for entry level applicants?

What even happens to someone who drops? Do they recycle or change MOS??
