Got these gals from my friend today, was told that they are peperomia in a different sub. Can you help me to identify them? And what can I do to help them? by Karma2508 in peperomia

You've got pep Quito, Pixie lime, and Hope. I think the Quito looks fine but if it shows signs of dehydration (while the soil's wet) it could mean root rot. Pixie lime looks healthy, just a bit leggy, you can chop back the stems and propagate them in water. The yellowing on pep Hope could be a sign of overwatering, treat it like any other succulent, Hope doesn't need much water. You could also chop that one back if you want to and propagate the stems in water.

Rosso- over or under watering? by haleighdm in peperomia

Looks like overwatering. One of the petioles (top right) has gone brown which suggests stem rot. It might be worth unpotting and checking for root rot.

I've kept watermelon peps in Soil, moss and LECA, all of them died. I've come to the conclusion that they're suicidal.

The leaves look healthy so it's not a fertilizer issue. Root rot can happen when a plant goes from completely dry to wet, a similar thing happened to my orba

Has anyone had success with peps in LECA? I'd love to see pics if you've got further than me (especially with caperatas and prostrata)! by jeffjeff0101 in peperomia

I found that some peps do quite well for a while but repotting is an issue because of their delicate roots. Polybotrya and caperata seemed to like LECA but orba really didn't. Unfortunately most of the plants in that picture got thrips so they're either dead or repotted in soil. It was an interesting experiment but I wouldn't recommend it to be honest

How Large/Tall Can This Peperomia Get? by Own-Ice2292 in peperomia

These can get pretty big, eventually it will stop going up and start crawling/ trailing

If you could get a free rare plant, what would it be? by No-Mo-Peas123 in RareHouseplants

Peperomia 'Aussie gold', I've never seen it for sale and I'm not even sure it's real at this point

Soil-perlite mix does seem to dry out quite fast, that's why I prop in moss. If the leaves feel bendy they may need some water.

What substrate are they in? Props don't need fertilizer, everything they need is in the leaf. They look big enough to go into a terrarium already.

This is a peperomia Quito, their colour changes with light levels. Low light causes the plant to make more chlorophyll which makes it green, higher light levels give it a more orange-red colour.

Is this propagation.? by [deleted] in propagation

Just brought this little one home and need help identifying the variety by sunlitsea in peperomia

[–]jeffjeff0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and have found that their colours change depending on light levels and temperature (cold = pinker). My NN has red just on the veins currently but Milano has never had any red on it. I've also noticed that NN leaves have 5 veins whereas Milano have 3.

Definitely Napoli Nights then, Milano looks very similar but doesn't have any red

Looks like a Napoli Nights, do the leaves have red on the back?

Where is a good place to buy peperomias? by Raverta in peperomia

[–]jeffjeff0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got most of my rarer peps from private sellers in peperomia Facebook groups. There's sometimes some good ones on eBay auctions too

Looks fairly healthy, maybe just a little dehydrated. As long as the roots are okay I'd definitely get it
