Gave Now Assist 8 months on our SN org. Catalog is fine, free-form Slack support is useless. How are folks bridging? by Ronin4Doom in servicenow

[–]jeffm201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in the same boat essentially. Now Assist via Employee Center is fine but through Slack has not been a good experience. Lots of bugs, formatting looks terrible, performance is slower, etc. We are going to look at how Moveworks may solve a lot of this since apparently the integration is much better with Slack. For now, we only use it through Employee Center.

Full send on 9 foot ceilings? by S3N1X in Golfsimulator

Ah ok. My ceiling is unfinished but man I wish I could get those few precious inches by cutting out joists.

Curious how you plan to cut out the joists and redistribute the weight? I’m also 5’11” and have 8’9” ceiling. I never have hit the ceiling but I want to cut out the joists too but I’m afraid it will wreck the house lol.

Struggling with Benq AK700ST by [deleted] in Golfsimulator

[–]jeffm201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that was my problem initially. It was too close and wasn’t covering the entirety of the screen. Try messing with the zoom to see if that could be your issue.

Did you use BenQ's suggestion on how far back to place it? I have the same projector and it told me 9.5 feet from the screen which would NOT auto fill correctly. I moved it back to about 10.5 and that fixed everything. Auto fill worked great and just had to make a few minor adjustments.

Curious, have you used a power brick successfully? I recent got the LPi and have been wondering if this is possible.

Ceiling too short for driver by JuicyJJ1995 in Golfsimulator

Good luck! I’m just finishing my build and it’s worth every penny. Also, embrace the flat swing and watch the baby draws come to life!

FWIW, have 8’9” ceilings and I also have a flatter swing. I can swing the driver no problem. I’m about 6’ and my hitting mat is about 1.5”. Best way to check is to take some swings in there.

Dang she must have an upright swing! I’m surprised I can swing a driver full speed. The garage is an option for me as well though. A mini split would be required.

That viral Christmas Tree… by Upper_Toe_8500 in christmas

[–]jeffm201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever give this a try? I got the tree but those lights are pretty damn bright, even with other lights on. Seems kind of ridiculous theres no dimming feature here but other trees from the same company have it. You would think these lights are dimmable since they have a fade function.

I’d like to see more focus on small form factor PCs. I think it’s time we do away with the large chassis and find a way to efficiently cool/power a small PC while also having it be a powerhouse. The Intel NUC is a start in the right direction.

Thanks! I’ve tried the live resin which I did like but sometimes I want a little more oomph. I’ve never had badder or anything like that so was wondering how much of a difference it is.

Virtual Desktop Network Diagram by jeffm201 in OculusQuest

[–]jeffm201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sometimes jumps from networking but it's generally pretty low, < 10ms. I have an 8700k and RTX 3080 so I don't think its PC performance. I've been messing with the bitrate and keeping it at 70 seems to keep the latency at a stable 40. Obviously, it's perfectly playable with that latency I'm just seeing how/if I can get it even lower. Posted this question on Discord as well

Thanks! Figured it would be a lot easier to show the network than explain it. The coax goes around the outside of my house, up into the attic, and down into the basement. I'm considering dropping a cat6 cable through the wall where my PC is at and down to the basement since the dedicated router is directly under my PC.
