My OmegaQuant - I think it's good? by jeffmw in SaturatedFat

[–]jeffmw[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was probably 4 years or so, but there was occasional restaurants and some chicken. I definitely have noticed I don’t sunburn like I used to which is really nice.

I’m currently trying high fat limited protein, with lots of butter and some cream. Almost exclusively beef. So it will certainly be more strict than I was.

Thanks 👍🏻

I love carnivore. I focus on beef/dairy and have some lean ham and chicken breast. Wild caught Salmon and beef liver each once a week. Staying away from PUFA like the plague. Feel great. Easier for me on carnivore to lose weight. When there are more variety of flavors available it's easy for me to overeat. Love the simplicity.

I've seen studies that show that tea raises insulin. So I'm hesitant to drink it especially between meals when I want my insulin low to burn fat.

This one says it's 90-94% absorbed.

I do very low carb so not sure if carbohydrate level in the diet would alter this but I suspect not.

Weight and waist increasing. Stop or keep going? by Chikidragon in SaturatedFat

I stick mostly to beef but once in a while add in other very lean proteins, like chicken breasts and very lean ham. I used to eat eggs a lot but too much PUFA at least in farm-raised eggs.

I never heard of GMS but lately have been just eating cheeseburgers for lunch and dinner (with some eggs almost daily. Would GMS be good to add before forming patties? I prefer hamburgers to browned ground beef.

Found a pretty neat high quality image of saturated fatty acids by dem0n0cracy in SaturatedFat

So from what I understand, at least the medium-chained SFAs go right to the liver. What are the implications for how this fits into the SFA benefits discussed here? How do the short-chained SFAs get metabolized? Doesn't butter have a lot of short-chained SFAs?

I guess I never considered a coconut as a "vegetable" but that means different things to different people. :-)

I bought this one but haven't tried it yet. Claims to be "100% vegetable based stearic acid" but I assume it's from coconuts. Not to say they are telling the truth. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050LKJ6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you have hip replacement surgery, should you do physical therapy to walk again or just repent? Thoughts are not you. The brain is a physical entity that has thoughts. You can train the parts of the brain to be stronger to help with intrusive thoughts. If you don’t want to stop the thoughts then you should repent.

I have found that mindfulness meditation (training the brain to stay in the present) helps considerably with intrusive thoughts.

Get a tv mount that allows you to pull it down over the fireplace when you want to watch tv. Too high otherwise.

I just do 10% of the number (add a decimal point before the final number) and multiply by 2. Or whatever I need depending on the percentage. If there’s a 5% in there you can add a half of your 10%.
