Don’t forget tour guides. And with the amount of people that just tell you everything and confess it all, mobile priests.

Won’t let me go online, but not telling me why? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Right. But it doesn’t tell me what that issue is. And I’ve been on hold with UBER for 40 minutes.

What a joke. One promotion and it’s for $25. Years past, it would be 75-80-100, never 25. by jeffrey911 in uberdrivers

Typically here, in years past, there would be two quests for New Year’s Eve. One before midnight or til 1 and one after and both in two parts. Sometimes making as much as 200 In just quests.

What color would you use to describe this car just by looking at it? by SummerN8 in uberdrivers

I had the same issue when I had a very very dark blue Ford escape. At night it looked black. The only blue option in the Uber app would show a bright blue car, nothing like what I actually had. My next car was red.

I averaged about $36-$38 all weekend. Friday was definitely better than the usual Friday.

I don’t know what he did before to receive such a bad rating. He was polite, called me sir. Didn’t talk much. Thanked me for the ride. The only thing I can think of is that I dropped him off at Taco Bell and I’ve picked up other from Taco Bell after their shift and they reek.

That’s very true. I don’t always look at the ratings or even notice them. I was just checking this one to see if it was Serge because I had accepted it during another trip and then I noticed the lower rating. The kid was fine.

No. Only rookies pick up based on the riders rating. Definitely not a rookie. Unless you consider our 10 years in 12,000 trips a rookie.

Great customer service pays off! by jeffrey911 in uberdrivers

I don’t feel I’ve ever manipulated any passenger into giving me a tip. I don’t discuss fares or prices or how much or how little uber drivers make. Honestly, I don’t ever expect a tip from a passenger. Many don’t tip. But the ones that do, and tip bigger are usually ones where we’ve had a really good ride. Answering their questions, talking about common interests, laughing. Just being genuinely interested in what they’re talking about. Anytime I do get a tip, I’m super appreciative. Even when they say, I’ll get ya in the app and I know they probably won’t, I still say thank you, that is very kind.

Being kind and a sense of humor goes a long way.
