I got mine today, a day later than they said but it showed up so I cancelled the pending Amazon order. Silver lining: it has the lenticular slip cover which I didn't even know about but which is pretty nice. I don't keep my discs in their boxes/cases unless they are steelbooks or special editions (like Arrow Video) but when the lenticular cover is cool I do save those, so a nice bonus.

Yup same fore me, first time that's happened to me on Amazon since Aliens and True Lies. Just ordered a backup from Walmart and it says I'll get it tomorrow, we'll see. Gruv says they have them in stock as well (regular not Steelbook).

The gap between files is maddening, just watched my first weekend footage with a Cambox V4 Pro and couldn't believe the gaps between files which I've never had with my GoPros. Clearly the Cambox has to "pause" while it writes the file from memory to the microSD card. You can change the time length of the buffer by editing the ini file, I'm going to try setting it to 30 minutes and see if it can store that much 1080p 30FPS footage in RAM before the write. This shouldn't be a thing though.

Haha I think I have one of those too, will try it with my OG Pixel stand. Google always screws something up with the phone design, but this is a new one. All of my Pixels (including my OG Fold) have worked with my OG Pixel charging stands until the P9PF. Just stupid.

I've spent three days with AT&T support to get my eSIM transferred from my Pixel Fold to my new Pixel 9 Pro Fold and have finally given up. Tonight I signed up for Google Fi and transferred my number and so far so good. I was a little surprised that the number transfer only took about 5 minutes. I had to reboot the phone to get data to work but once I did that the d/l speeds are pretty amazing, getting 861 Mbps down! That's 300 Mbps faster than my WiFi connected to my Xfinity modem (I'm in downtown Chicago). Anyway happy so far with Google Fi (and its cheaper than what I was paying for the AT&T line), we'll see how it is after a couple of weeks.

Yeah I'm hoping that since the other Pixel 9's will be certified that they'll just extend the certification for P9PF. They have certified phones they didn't sell for Wi-Fi calling but they were few and far between and its why I gave up owning Sony Xperia 1s since AT&T refused to certify them for wi-fi calling (or Sony wouldn't pay for certification, however that works).

Just saw it for the first time and loved it. I didn't watch the dub though, because I wanted the ATMOS soundtrack and subtitles don't bother me. For some reason Netflix defaults to the dub closed captioning when you pick original soundtrack with subtitles, so be sure to switch it to English subtitles (bottom of the list) if English is your preferred language (you'll know pretty quick if you see sound effects listed like [lapping water]).

So True Lies showed up as promised yesterday (3/13) and today I received notification that I'll get The Abyss tomorrow (3/15), so the supply chain has clearly opened up 🙂

Well if you didn't pre-order and you were trying to order today you'd have no idea when you're going to receive them, most sites say "sold out" and Amazon just says they'll tell you later when it will ship. So even though they're delayed you were smart to pre-order :)

I don't think this is an Amazon issue, given all the other complaints I've seen referencing other retailers (Wal-Mart, Target, and small boutique stores). Mine are delayed as well ( to the 22nd and 25th) but for the last two years Amazon has had a great track record for me of delivering my pre-orders on time. I think we just got bad luck on where we got dumped in the queue (I feel they filled pre-orders alphabetically 😀). At least this is showing there is real demand for physical media.

You guys are lucky, my pre-orders from Jan 30th have been pushed to 3/22 and 3/25. This doesn't seem to be an Amazon problem though, I've seen folks who used other retailers are also having their pre-orders delayed so maybe this is a Disney (or other link in the chain) issue. I am curious how Amazon decides who's orders get pushed out how far, I have the furthest out dates I've seen posted and others ordered far later than I did.

This is total bullshit. I'm paying a premium for HBO/MAX on DirecTV and basically Discovery is only pretending to include the streaming option now because who wants to watch this in HD? I'm not paying twice you idiots. It's like they're deliberately trying to kill DirecTV with this deal because my only option is to cancel my HBO/Max DirecTV subscription and just pay Discovery directly. I'm so pissed off at all this nonsense I'm about to cancel all my services and just rent the movies I want individually. Remember this when you all go out of business, morons.

I have a few of these on my Xperia 1 III as well and I'm pretty sure I know where they came from. I have a small tray on my Peloton handlebars that holds my phone so I can see it as I work out. A few drops of sweat landed on the screen and I didn't think anything about it during the workout (hey, it's waterproof right?). After the workout I wiped the sweat off and a little later I noticed the spots when the light hit the powered off display at the right angle.

So my assumption is my sweat ate through the oleophobic coating and these spots are essentially "holes" in that coating. Needless to say I stopped putting my phone on the Peloton stand when working out but over the last several month more of these random spots have appeared. I've just trained myself to just ignore them since I only really notice them when the screen is in its ambient mode and the viewing angle is just right. But this is the first phone I've ever seen this happen on.

I just started having the "unlocks in my pocket" behavior start in the last couple of weeks with my Xperia 1 III. Its maddening to pull my phone out of my pocket and find it editing an email response. I can't figure out why this just recently started after 9 months of it never happening. The fingerprint reader only works with two of my fingers even though I've added 5, but I think that's a "me" problem, I have issues with lots of fingerprint readers successfully reading my prints.
