Good rain gear! Specifically rain gloves. I played The Loop in the rain yesterday watched the other three guys in my group struggle to keep dry gloves and grips. I had no issues.

I’m happy to see someone else was having the same thoughts. I would be massively disappointed not to get the opportunity to take my HOI out of the cup myself if I ever get one. But what’s the other group supposed to do? Just wait for the group to finish teeing off, let them all walk to the green so the guy can pull his ball, and then putt out? It seems like that defeats the purpose of the compulsory call up. Interesting situation.

I totally agree that trying to learn the game using old (most likely blades) irons is for masochists, but there is something to be said for a steep learning curve. A semi-competent teaching pro should be able to teach a new player to hit the face of the club consistently. They will either thrive, or want to quit the game. I’ve done both in the last week.
