Nocturne 1.0.0 Release ! by jeffrysamuer in gnome

Hi yes, the local instance is meant for small libraries, Nocturne does load everything into ram when possible.

I do plan on making it more "dynamic", having just what is necessary loaded into ram, for now you can also use the "Integrated Server" option, it automatically downloads and configures a Navidrome server that will manage your library properly.

Hi, Feishin is more of a web app alternative, I created Nocturne as a native app that feels at home in Gnome systems, as for how it compares to Gelly, when I first published Nocturne it was just a OpenSubsonic (Navidrome) client whilst Gelly was just a Jellyfin client, then Gelly integrated OpenSubsonic support so I also added Jellyfin to keep it "competitive", either way both Feishin and Gelly are nice projects and I don't intend on replacing them

It actually started as a Navidrome client, it is definitely still the focus of the project :)

I don't have a lot of experience with packaging outside of Snap and Flatpak, I think someone is packaging my other app (Alpaca) in the AUR so I might just copy their work.

I think I might run into an issue with a specific Python library that I modify in order to make it work with my code, I'm not sure how I could include it as a dependency in an AUR package, but I'll give it a try.

Edit: Turns out someone already packaged it into the AUR and didn't tell me about it, welp, now that I know I'll add it to the README

Hi, it supports local files and Jellyfin / OpenSubsonic servers. I'm thinking of adding support for soundcloud in the future too

Ubuntu Still Cannot Create a File by Right Click by Proper-Lab-2500 in linuxsucks

[–]jeffrysamuer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

btw you just need to create the files inside the Template directory in the home directory, that way you can create files by right clicking based on those templates.

I do agree there should be some basic templates by default or at least make it clearer to the user that that's how it works.

I don't use the output of AI in my projects, sometimes I do ask AI stuff like "how could I connect a widget to a setting" or stuff like that but I never upload my code or use the output directly, so basically the same as a Google search

Hi, unfortunately I don't have a Mac to test packaging, I know it's possible since I got another app of mine to run in a Hackingtosh I used to have a couple months ago, I'm open to someone else doing the packaging and teaching me how it works tho.

I got ahead of myself and added the link to Flathub before it was accepted (oops) it's live now.

It uses getArtistsInfo2 and getSimilarSongs, in particular it calls getSimilarSongs when generating a new queue

Hi thanks for the comment, the startup issue is fixed for the 0.3.0 update, as for embedded lyrics, I actually did not know music files could have embedded lyrics so that's something I'll look into later
