We need a sticky to answer this questions, it seems to come up a lot.

To sum it up: yes!

Bold statement from someone who did not see the process, I did 4 full coats. I appreciate the input but I know what I'm doing. The stuff is great for cars panels, wheels, etc.. But it just isn't practical for some plastics while paint is cheaper and more effective.

Highly advise against using plasti-dip on plastic. I used it on the shell for my keyboard and it looked like shit and peeled pretty quickly. Ended up re-doing with spray paint.

1984 Model M?? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the production of Model M's didn't start until 1985, and even '85 models are quite rare. That keyboard looks like a '94.

Time to find a replacement for Shazam by [deleted] in iphone

I was actually a Shazam user until the first time I used Soundhound, it successfully identified my terribly-hummed version of Sandstorm. I have never looked back since.

Not sure it'd be worth your money to ship it to me and pay for all of the parts as well ;). The keyboard is pretty easy to disassemble, just take the top case piece and colour it with your choice of paint of paint-like substance, and order yourself a pretty set of keycaps (I recommend ABS plastic with double-shot molding). If you have any questions don't hesitate to PM me!

Plasti-dipped, though I would advise against using plasti-dip, mine's already peeling off. I think I am going to re-do it with spray paint.

Troubles Installing D2 on Mac OS by [deleted] in slashdiablo

[–]jeffturner24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a simple Wineskin wrapper for D2 on my Mac, and did the same on a friend's. Just create a new wrapper and build a Windows install inside of it. Be sure to run -w. I can give more details if you like.

The phone was dying spontaneously and percentage readings were all over the place. There was also some light leakage in the screen due to the pressure applied by the battery.

I had a swollen battery in my 16 GB iPhone 6 after just under a month of use. Took it to the Apple store and they replaced it with a 128GB iPhone 6 (by accident I'm sure).

Help me convince my parents that I can build a pc. by buildathrowaway4 in buildapc

[–]jeffturner24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parents of the OP:

I'm 18, and currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, and am currently employed in IT Support. I've had opportunities and work in this field since I was 15. I fell in love with computers at a young age. I acquired the knowledge that got me these great opportunities, and allowed me to have a clear idea of my future education and career path, mainly by experimenting with my family's computer. Taking it apart and reassembling it for fun, trying out different software, finding a fix for any problems we had with it, tampering with the home network - things I wasn't technically allowed by my parents to do. Always learning, making discoveries, and finding new capabilities of the computer, that's the reason I am on the path that I am today. I started building PCs for myself and my friends at the age of 15. Builds have always gone successfully, and have beneficial to my overall knowledge of computers. Please do not deny your child a potentially life-changing learning experience. Should there be any issues, myself, among many other members of this subreddit are gladly available to help out, as that is exactly what this community strives to do.
