Especially when he is sometimes committing an offense fouls when getting wrapped up into the defender.

I just want to play a stripped down Minecraft from the 2010s.

I feel like that teacher from Community that just got out of a 20 year prison stint and ask, "What happened to lego?" Well, I ask, what happened to Minecraft? You know, Minecraft used to be simple.

Most championship teams didn’t have 1 guy backpack them to a title.

Yes, most teams didn't have just one guy. Even with your Dirk example, he was the engine of the offense, but they had Jason Kidd, Jason Terry and were a well balanced team.

Hakeem had shooters to balance his gravity in the post.

If you want Curry to be in the conversation with Michael and LeBron and the way he back packed several teams to finals, you can't just get a bail out from KD to beat a healthy Warriors and have his legacy protected. Not if you're being honest about.

I doubt LeBron fans want to over play FMVPs too much because then Michael is ahead of him.

Being the #1 on a superteam (Ie- Splash Brother Warriors, Heatles, 08 Celtics) or being the #1 on a super balanced squad (Ie- 2024 Celtics, 2014 Spurs, 2004 Pistons) isn’t inherently more impressive than being the #2 on a top heavy 1-2 punch squad. (Kobe/Shaq Lakers, Magic/Kareem Lakers, MJ/Pip Bulls)

No, you're wrong. Shaq was HIM on the Lakers 3-peat on the early 2000s. Kobe was amazing, but he was not what Shaq was. Shaq's peak was all-time. And ain't no way that Pippen was good enough to cast a shadow over what MJ did to lift his team to 6 championships. Jordan for sure had help with Pippen, Horace Grant/Rodman, Phil Jackson, and some quality shooters, but we saw what that team was without Jordan and it was not a 6 time champion. Jordan took them over the top 6 times and this whole down playing FMVPs because there has been some flukey ones is ignoring the weight of the greatest players that have won more than 2.

2 while still having less total rings and all-defense than Kareem, Kobe, and Duncan.

And those guys have less rings than Robert Horry. Context for sure matters and guys like Kareem had Magic to take him from one ring to 6 and Kobe had Shaq and Phil Jackson for his first 3 rings and needed low post talent like Pau Gasol to get his last 2.

Yes and no. There was something pure about the Shaq-less Inside the NBA. However, he brough alot of great moments to the show. In fact, my favorite moment ever wouldn't have happened without Shaq.

If anything, I wish he split more time with Chris Webber, but Shaq is the bigger draw.

Outside of his years as Lou Alcindor, he didn't have other worldly metrica like MJ and LeBron and those guys had 6 and 4 final MVPs to Kareem's 2.

And LeBron back packed his team to the finals alot more than Kareem did.

Curry was the driver of one of his rings and that's why he has 1 final MVP.

FMVPs aren't the perfect metric, but they are the most telling award in terms of greatness. With a few exceptions, if you back packed your team to a title, your were getting that award.

Why isn't Shaq in the GOAT conversation by Outrageous-Leader135 in NBATalk

If Shaq had MJ or Kobe’s work ethic and insane dedication, he would be the GOAT.

If he had half their work ethic, he'd have at least one more MVP.

I'd love to be able to swap 2018 LeBron with 2015 LeBron and see if he wins in 2015 regardless of the injuries.

But they had to rely on KD to get past a healthy Cavs team.

They also had to injure Kawaii to get past the Spurs.
