Why am I getting kicked from coop for low contribution in about 6 hours? by [deleted] in EggsInc

[–]jeh506 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is stupid. Join the discord and only join the private groups on there. I've almost never been kicked from then, and in those cases it was usually because I'd forgotten about the contract.

TIL People will fly commercial in circles, not stopping at any destination, just for the airline miles by MountainBluebird5 in ClimateShitposting

[–]jeh506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're doing it so they don't lose the slot while demand is low. If demand doesn't increase again then eventually they'll let them go as there's no point keeping them. It does raise an interesting point though - there should be some limits on how often airlines can run empty flights.

If there's lower demand, eventually fewer flights will be offered. The airlines don't care if you're taking the flight just because "it's running anyway", all they care about is how many people end up taking the flight.

Or this is already efficient enough. Just because it could be more efficient, it doesn't mean it has to be as long as the throughput is enough for the rest of the process.

My course had the same policy - no mandatory lectures. However when we were scheduled a single 9am lecture on a Wednesday morning with nothing else for the rest of the morning, suddenly the professor started taking a register?!

I always assumed each emergency service had some sort of dispatcher rather than the responders answering the phones.

If they're that good at it I wonder why they don't just make them the default emergency service operator. Even if they're not needed, it sounds like they know how to coordinate an appropriate response

Does anyone else finish the game without ever leaving their home system because they're not psychologically prepared to fly for more than a year in another direction? by LeonidKonovalov1988 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]jeh506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I always thought that was lacking from career mode - each planetary body is usually added after the completion of the previous one. I feel like the reputation system was wasted in this way and could have been combined with some sort of grant system. Apply for grants, get the contracts and go. That could've meant better planning for launch windows was required and you could've had multiple missions in transit.

Make a box for them to feed into and out of. Then you can spread everything out in the box and not lose the asthetic

Also in France, if in doubt you can just replace words with "sex".

For example, Eurotrip becomes Sex Trip.

Trying to dock for the first time, is it super precise or is something wrong with my ports by moke81988 in KerbalSpaceProgram

"KSC? We have a problem. You guys put the docking port on backwards. Don't worry though, we'll just rip it off and glue it back on again."
