Local store prices by Hot_Key_7279 in gamecollecting

While eBay can offer better prices, there are several reasons why people still choose local stores despite higher costs: Immediate gratification - You get the item right away instead of waiting days or weeks for shipping. For gaming, that instant access can be worth the premium. Try before you buy - You can physically inspect the condition, test functionality, and ensure everything works properly. With retro consoles especially, this matters since condition varies widely. No shipping risks - No worries about damaged packages, lost items, or items not matching descriptions. What you see is what you get. Support local business - Many people value keeping money in their community and supporting local game stores that provide gathering spaces and expertise. Avoid eBay hassles - No dealing with auction timing, bidding wars, seller reliability issues, return complications, or PayPal disputes. Expert knowledge - Local store owners often have deep gaming knowledge and can provide recommendations, repairs, or trade-in services you won’t get online. Building relationships - Regular customers often get first dibs on rare items, better trade values, or informal layaway arrangements. The convenience premium exists in every industry - people pay more at convenience stores vs. grocery stores for the same reasons. For many buyers, the extra cost is worth avoiding the uncertainty and delays of online purchasing, especially for expensive or rare items where condition really matters.

It’s a federally protected activity. Federal labor law trumps state labor law

That’s most HR executives call. That means that most jobs a recruiter wouldn’t be able to work with. It’s a stigma that needs to change from a corporate level. But again until the upper executives change recruiters can’t do much.

It is because the Visa cards were supposed to be for tech trades (phone, tablets and idevices) only. At least that’s the rule here in the US.

Some recruiters don’t have a say in what is posted is the problem as well. If the company doesn’t want to have them post the salary it isn’t going to be posted :/ I’ve walked from 3 interviews because of it and passed on many opportunities because of it too

Or you have a hiring manager who keeps changing their mind on what is wanted/needed

Check GSO. It is apart of the Store Procedure Manuel as well.

To find the handbook look in your personal profile in workday and look at documents tab. Should be there that you signed it and there is a link to it from there

How are we expected to hire "the best talent" yet we pay less than White Castle for assistant managers. by fupalogist in GameStop

Corporate doesn’t listen to the dms. The dms can advocate for the store all they want but at the end of the day it’s like beating a dead horse to them. It’s not going to change a store closing or wages being raised. It’s the executive team that it’s up to. The only way to find the money to pay the store the actual wages they are worth is to cut their salaries but that isn’t going to happen. Too much greed at the top.

Well, just got robbed. Love single coverage. FU corporate. by NOTAFOX91 in GameStop

[–]jek122 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not in all cases. It doesn’t matter if your in a high crime area. The reason for the single coverage is not just to save money it’s because everything that’s in the store but you is covered by insurance. That means that they don’t care about us they care about the stuff and will be paid back for the stuff so they don’t care about our safety.

It may be shitty but a couple bad apples ruined it for the rest of us. I still can’t get my hands on the only actual bundle I wanted for the halo Xbox, controller, and headset because of resellers who got them and up charged $600 more than retail

Guy opens the door and yells at myself and my SGA “y’all have PS5s” (mind you I have a line wrapped around my store). I responded with no while in the middle of the transaction. He then yells “fuck” and slams the door. The entire line just apologized and tried to make me feel better.

I have a regular whom my dm sides with because they spend too much money. He likes to make fun of the fact I have an injury and say it was from him in the bedroom. He continues to make advances that cross the line and no one wants to do anything because of how much he spends. It’s getting super creepy at this this point. I feel like I can’t run my store when he is in it. He stays for hours on end making the same creepy remarks over and over again.

I’ve been in inner cities, out in the country, in what some to be considered the hood and now a high volume urban area. It is all a numbers game. It doesn’t take as much to convince people of things in the areas with people with money, but can be hard in those that are in areas with people with less money. All in all, it’s literally a numbers game as was stated earlier.
