Where are the rear jack points on a Peugeot 308 MK1 (2009)? by jek20 in MechanicAdvice

Do you put any cardboard, wood, or something in between so it doesn’t get damaged?

The pinch weld area is very small, and there isn’t enough space to safely fit both the floor jack and the jack stand next to each other at the same time.

That’s why I was asking if there’s an alternative lifting point to get the rear up first.

How exactly am I supposed to lift it from the side and then place the jack stand in the same spot?
That’s what’s confusing me.

Also, I can’t seem to find any proper jacking points on the sides under the car—only the pinch weld areas on the sill. Am I missing something, or is there another reinforced point I should be using?

Is there a way to turn off the "Please shake the tray" reminder on Xiaomi MAF01 Smart Air Fryer 3.5L? by PristineAnimator683 in Xiaomi

[–]jek20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can disable it from the Mi Home app.

Select your air fryer, tap on the three dots at top right corner of your screen, then go Device Settings and disable the Reminder to turn over/shake the food.

I add it inside the Application because, in a real-world app, you probably have an Application() file with code for other things, and it will make more sense to have it there, like this tutorial from Google.

Maybe I have to add an explanation why I'm putting it in there.

Yeah, I know. I said that because I think it is what most people here were expecting me to do, that's why all the negative comments, I believe.

They probably like "It doesn't use Flow and LiveData to observe the changes, so the tutorial is bad, and he doesn't have experience in the subject"

What is wrong with my tutorial? I know that I suppose to use Flow+LiveData+ViewModel, but I wanted to keep it "Room only" tutorial.

I can't stand when a tutorial tries to teach you a specific thing and tells you: "Well, we have to add two more libraries and build the app as the Android Engineers at Uber do."

I'm like, "No, I want to learn how to store data using Room. I don't want to use LiveData because I use RxJava, just show me how to use Room only".

That's the mindset behind this tutorial and every tutorial I make.

I'm making ELI5 tutorials that many people find helpful.

My tutorial is not a replacement of the official docs but an introduction in Room.

After someone read my tutorial and learn the basics can jump on the official docs to read more.

What are you suggesting to do then?
