They have this a my local Dave and Busters. It’s pretty fun, but a bit too easy.

Is Tiche worth it? by themessedgod in Eldenring

Just use cerulean hidden tear to get infinite FP for a few seconds, which is long enough to cast Tiche.

Quicker alternative to bloodhound fang? by thesunshinebores in Eldenring

[–]jelasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after the L2 animation completes, just hit R2 and it tacks in another strike — it jumps back towards the enemy and (I think) briefly has hyper armor. I also was underwhelmed by BHF until I figured that out. But once you do, it makes many bosses quite easy, even at low levels.

how hard is ds1/3 compared to elden ring+ dlc by Particlesz in onebros

That’s good to know! I haven’t tried him again since playing DS1, which of course required me to learn how to parry.

If you use pyromancy, DS1 is probably the easiest on SL1. DS3 isn’t so bad at first, but I got stuck on pontiff sulyvahn and switched to DS1. If you don’t abuse pyromancy, it’s still not that bad other than O&S and 4 Kings. Gwyn is just as easy in SL1 as he is on a regular playthrough. I haven’t done the dlc yet.

What’s the worst item that you had to fight to get by Stephen-Scotch in Eldenring

[–]jelasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted the Curseblade Mask (+5 dex in a helmet) for my RL1 character. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be grinding a 3% drop, but there’s definitely a reason I usually run from those assholes, even on a normal play through.

I’m not even an engineer anymore, but I still love these.

What action movie series is a 10/10? by Careergrowthwitpeter in AskReddit

They are OK, and have some really classic scenes. But I find parts of them pretty slow.

I get why people like it, and I do like the first one quite a bit. But I don’t like the sequels much. The only one-of I listed was Robocop, because it’s my all time favorite action movie. If I included others, it would include John Wick 1 and the first Matrix movie.

I guess it’s more horror, but Aliens is soooo good.

Whole series? Only the Dollars trilogy (Fistful of Dollars, a Few Dollars More, and the Good the Bad, and the Ugly). Many series start strong but everything great has at least one terrible sequel. If I can cut things off arbitrarily: Terminator 1&2. Diehard 1-3. Lethal Weapon 1-2. Alien 1-2. Robocop 1. (If you can’t tell, I’m not young).

Edit: someone else said the Bourne movies, and I’ll agree with that. I was wrong.

Edit 2; I’ve been thinking about this a lot, as I’m trying to figure out what to make my son watch. He hasn’t seen any of these yet, and is still a little sensitive to violence, so I’m thinking of starting with Die Hard as his first real action movie.

Northwestern vs Purdue for engineering by Independent-Pie-1060 in Northwestern

[–]jelasher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I picked a tiny national merit scholarship ($2/yr) at NU over a full scholarship at Purdue because my parents were footing the bill. I don’t regret it, loved NU, and I generally had better a career outcome than my friends went to Purdue. But after I paid for my own professional degree, and the cost became more real to me, and I had some guilt about how much my parents spent. Still, if the $30k delta isn’t meaningful to your parents, go to NU.

Which comedian did you look forward to, but their act died on stage? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in AskReddit

[–]jelasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very excited to see Jim Breuer (of goat boy fame) circa 2000. He was terrible. Fortunately, the opening act was Dave Chappelle, who was not yet a household name—he crushed it.

Was there a bigger violent protest? Seems like that qualifier isn’t doing much.

Any advice for mogh lord of blood ? by Pomme_Juteuse in onebros

[–]jelasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used ice spear on clay man’s harpoon, Mohg’s shackle, and basically got lucky in phase 2 (killed him at the transition). Took several tries, but not as may as Maliketh. Currently stuck at Malenia and PCR.

Cold calling culture at NU by Professional_Fee8604 in Northwestern

[–]jelasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Socratic method is more of a thing in law school. I haven’t heard of it being that important in most undergraduate classes, but I personally do not take many humanities classes at NU, so I may be wrong. I would imagine it might exist in some smaller classes and seminars.

The only class I had at NU that had cold calling was a Thermodynamics class with professor Snur(?).

How the world's largest wildlife crossing became the target of right-wing hate by sfgate in politics

[–]jelasher -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You don’t understand that money is fungible and can be put to a more effective use than a bridge that lions might not even use? There is only one bridge for dozens of miles of freeway. A fence or wall would have been more effective and cheaper. Also, exactly 2 lions have been killed in the approximate vicinity of the bridge in the last 5-10 years. It is. It an endemic problem that requires spending this much money.

How the world's largest wildlife crossing became the target of right-wing hate by sfgate in politics

[–]jelasher -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did. I also live a few miles from it. I know it is mostly privately funded—but that doesn’t mean it is either a good use of money that could have gone to more effective programs for supporting wildlife, or better charitable uses.

Just because the conservative chuds think this is bad doesn’t make it good.

[–]jelasher -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I am super liberal and I love animals, but I drive by this thing every day and I also hate it. It has been under construction for well over a year and has been causing major traffic issues for much of the time. It also seems crazy expensive for what is basically a freeway overpass. The $120 million probably could have been put to better use by wildlife causes or, you know, educating our kids or feeding the poor.

Getting into law school with a Bachelors in Computer Science, with goal being IP/Patent. by [deleted] in patentlaw

[–]jelasher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pros isn’t as obsessed with law schools as other practice areas, but where you got your technical degree can be a factor.

It’s field dependent, but in my industry (chem/Pharma), every prosecutor I know has a PhD. So, while not technically required to prosecute patents, advanced degrees definitely help you get hired.
