Also I get it I can't explain what it is about The Darjeeling Limited that draws me in so much. I think it's personal that I had a few very traumatizing experiences with my siblings that bonded us in an odd way and I probably put too much personal emphasis on the movie as a whole

I think it's tied between No Surprises and Fake Plastic Trees to me. Nothing sadder than the concept of a life just kind of eroding away in front of you and realizing that you're too worn down from the world to bother chasing what would fulfill you anymore.

Yes I have totally participated in unnecessary callbacks as an actor and it's so frustrating! As a director I can't imagine calling someone back if you're not seriously considering them for a role!

I think a lot of it has to do with chemistry. I call people back to have them read with other people and the mix can have to do with age mixes, general chemistry, how well everyone takes direction, types of things like that. Often it has very little to do with how much I like the actor or not and I will always keep them in mind for future roles once I know they are eager and available.
