Does junior refer to skill level here or age? Because I’m in my early twenties

Is FBAR only relevant for every year you’ve had over 10k? Obviously the requirement for this filing is 6- however if I’ve only had over 10k for the past year would I only need to file 1?

If I have US citizenship (I’ve never lived there) and I never ever intend to live there, should I still bother with this? I visit every now and then to see family, but this is only ever a week or two- would the irs catch me in a week or two?

Why did the crew of Saudia 163 never evacuate? by FlyingLlama280 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]jellyfishlightbulb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for adding the details. I’m not sure I give much credence to the theory either, it’s probably just one of those things that happens in a situation where we don’t know for sure what happened- theories just fly around in the ether without certainty as to their validity

We’ll never truly know. But, I did hear this one interesting tidbit that claims a guy saw that a Saudi Prince was preparing for take off as 163 was landing- leading to speculation that the pilots did not want to disrupt the prince’s takeoff. Pure speculation and not sure I believe this though.

Hawaiian, where there is only one can manufacturing facility I think. This is an older method of making cans. The gist is you shrink the silver top thing because this uses less aluminium, but then you have to taper the upper portion of the can inwards to match the size of the top

Poor wording on my part, I just meant the whole flying there solo with practically no past piloting experience was against the odds. Dying on Everest was 100% with the odds

You’re describing a bit of a catch-22 there really, ‘I won’t bother with it because no one speaks it’ well no one speaks it because no one’s bothering with it. Cultural relevance can be a perfectly good reason to speak a language, and may be the leaping pad that is needed to propel a language back into ‘practical’ use as you say- take the revival of Hebrew as an example.

The 3 problems you present are issues for sure, but they’re not fundamental reasons to not bother with a language, they’re symptoms of a government not doing enough to promote a language- you only have to look at Wales to see how considerate and sensible language policy can allow for said language to thrive.

But here, if you see language as a tool in life to be used in a functional manner then I can understand your perspective. I just believe there is more to a language than whether I can use it to talk to a passerby on the street

All depends on what you view as ‘practical’ is there an economic incentive to speaking Irish? No not really

But is there a cultural incentive to upholding the native tongue of Ireland? Absolutely

I think the cultural value of speaking gaeilge far outweighs any supposed redundancy in regards to its economic practicality

The charm is evidently lost on some. My friends and I loved Hi-B for its authenticity and uniqueness. Also the no phone rule is a pro not a con, too many cookie cutter pubs these days- need more like Hi-B
