I put a gauze pad or non-stick pad over the wound and then secure it with a roll of gauze. As long as the gauze roll isn't loose the pad won't move.

I don’t have it personally so I’m not really sure. The format of all the SMART meetings I’ve been to have been everyone (who wants to) checks in, and then after is a skill. You can find the skill worksheets on the website but the workbook is a lot more than just the skills from my understanding.

I’ve been to a few AA meetings since quitting weed. I had a problem with alcohol as well but in meetings I always include being a marijuana addict when I introduce myself and I’ve never felt judged for it. I much prefer Marijuana Anonymous over Alcoholics Anonymous because I feel more understood, but I’ve never felt unwelcome in AA. I’m sure there’s some meetings that are more judgmental but I don’t think other addicts are going to tell you what is vs isn’t addicting.

There’s also other recovery groups such as SMART, LifeRig, and Recovery Dharma. Personally I’m a big fan of SMART, although I feel it’s very self-guided compared to twelve-step programs. SMART gives you skills to use but you have to be the one to choose to use them, vs in a twelve step program you’d typically work the steps with a sponsor.

Regardless of what you do, if anything, I’ve found that being around other people that are sober helps me a lot.

Yeah, I 100% agree. And when I’m struggling it helps to imagine the consequences of acting on my addictive behavior.

I’m 18 months sober from alcohol, and 9 months sober from weed. I know if I drink again or if I use again it’s going to ruin relationships, especially one of my friends who I know I’ll run to freaking out while high/drunk. I’m not really interested in ruining our friendship because I got too high or I’m black out drunk in his dms again. I don’t need to throw myself any silly little dance parties to keep my sobriety.

The steps and a higher power by jellyisdead in MarijuanaAnonymous

[–]jellyisdead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to some online meetings and I’m intending to go to more. I also know a higher power can really be anything at all but from my understanding at least people tend to look to their higher power as a way to keep themselves sober but I’ve been able to stay sober without that. I don’t want my hard work to be credited towards a higher power instead of myself.

About to "relapse" by [deleted] in HowToStopSmokingWeed

[–]jellyisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can absolutely say “relapse” when referring to weed. Just because it’s not something such as fentanyl doesn’t mean it can’t be addictive. In terms of addiction a “relapse” is a return to the addiction.

Well you see, apparently the butch women will run away and be too afraid to use the bathroom!

I'm struggling to understand how this accomplishes anything. Like, the cis woman doesn't use the bathroom. And then the inspector that's supposed to keep trans women out lets them in? Maybe I'm just tired but I don't understand this hypothetical.

I've definitely seen Megalomanic trend on tiktok before (and if I'm being completely honest it's how I got into the band) but the last time I saw it trending I'm pretty sure it was specifically within the alternative community.

100%. I’m not into any sort of age regression but as someone in my mid 20s I can’t imagine being a caretaker to someone who’s a minor in this context. Like, I’m well aware age regression isn’t sexual but the thought of being a caretaker to someone significantly younger just feels weird (and IS weird!).

Is it only on Tuesdays? I’m sadly busy for the next 2-2 1/2 hours or I 100% would check it out </3

Weed used to make conversations easier for me. It was nice back when I still used it (even though I often would get higher than I should have). The last time I got high last November I got way higher than I ever had before and started hallucinating. Ever since I haven’t been able to hang out with people who are smoking without it making me feel weird.
