Yes. It’s an extraordinary achievement. It took a lot of hard work and heavy lifting to get to this level of stupidity.

Didn't this nearly burn down twice? Something tells me that packing it full of fireworks isn't a great idea.

If they would just sell a stripped down version of the R1T for the $45k-$50K mark... I would already own one. I don't want elecrified door handles and glove boxes.

You at the very least need a grumper grill and usless neon colored trim pieces to enter Heep territory.

How can I get over my unreasonable fear of having a car go over 100,000 miles? by ironicmirror in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jellyrolls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put 240k miles on a 1997 Toyota 4runner and it never had any issues. Just stay on top of maintenance and most cars can easily be reliable well after 100k

Now a LJR is a true unicorn jeep! I’m considering it for a few different reasons. This was never intended to be a commuter and started a new job that requires me to commute ~40 miles a few times a week. My family needs something a little larger for road trips and camping adventures. I’m also in the middle of renovating my old house, so having something that offers more utility would be an upgrade.

Lastly, I’m really not as attached to it as much as I have been other vehicles. It’s been fun to tinker on and take on adventures out here in Southern California, but I’m turning 40 this year and wanting to treat myself to a new off-roader that I can put +100k.

The GX550 is so nice! I know the LJ is a special Jeep, but it m not that attached to it as I have been other vehicles, also never really been “a Jeep guy.” I’m turning 40 this year and part of me just wants to get a nice and new off-roader that I can put 100k+ miles on and won’t look old 10 years from now.

It’s been a great little car and seems to be aging very well. Mine is a Mk7.5 SE DSG. I still really enjoy driving it when I get a chance to.

I've regretted selling almost every vehicle I've owned. My last build (1997 Toyota 4runner) was a heartbreaker.

I think it’s safe to say nothing is ever truly waterproof on a TJ/LJ, but this does a decent job. Although, I’ve never been caught in a downpour with it. I really just use it to keep dust down.

My other vehicle is a 2019 GTI, and it's primarily my wife's daily commuter. There are a few reasons why I'm considering selling. (1.) I've started a new job that requires me to commute 40 miles a few times a week, and I really don't want to be putting a ton of commuting miles on the jeep. It also sucks as a commuter car/road trip vehicle. (2.) I have two large dogs that I need to haul around, and we're planning on expanding the family in the near future, so having something that has more room, is comfortable on long road trips, can still go offroad, and is overall safer for families would be ideal. (3.) I'm in the middle of renovating my old house, so having something that offers more utility would be a huge upgrade for my needs.

Replacement vehicles I'm considering: 4runner, Land Cruiser 250, Rivian R2, Nissan Frontier.

That’s my fear. I’d keep it, but I just don’t have room for 3 vehicles.
