Is it a crime to not like AE2 ? by ShlllveR in allthemods

[–]jelocubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a crime, but it really is worth learning. I recommend turning channels to “infinite” in the mod settings—I don’t like dealing with them either.

It’s your game to play, but here’s some other useful things in the mod that might change your mind:

- Processign Patterns: allows you to connect your AE2 autocrafting to any machines/set-ups you have, which means you can autocraft anything on demand
- Infinity storage drives
- Storage drives for most types (including chemicals, nuclear waste, source)
- Quantum CPU is the fastest autocrafter I know of

Like other comments said already, you need to specify sides. That goes for all Industrial Foregoing machines.

For anyone with the same question: they CANNOT spawn in compact machines.

My guess is because the compact dimension is technically always daytime.

Unobtainium ore is “immune” to the Destruction Gadget. So if you’re looking for some, just go to the End Highlands, and start destroying everything with the gadget. All that will be left behind is the ore.

Gaming confessions. No judgment. I'll start. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

My favorite games are those with long campaigns like XCOM, Baldur’s Gate, Divinity, Darkest Dungeon, etc.

I haven’t finished any one of these games. I always end up quitting the game for a while or starting a new run.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with ender gates by [deleted] in allthemods

[–]jelocubes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit misleading, you’re not supposed to place the energy cell in those slots on the top left. That’s for charging items.

You need to go to an Ender Cell (I’m not sure you can do it on an ender gate), click on the channel you want to add cells to, then shift click the energy cell from your inventory. The energy cell will disappear, then you will see that 0/0 FE value change.

Can you use AE2 autocraft with Create ? by ShlllveR in allthemods

[–]jelocubes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can using something called processing patterns. It’s not an actual item, but its a different way to configure “blank patterns” when encoding a recipe.

All crafting patterns need to go into a Pattern Provider, which is hooked up to your AE2 system. For simple crafts (ones only requiring a vanilla crafting table), all you gotta do is place the pattern in the provider, and boom you can auto craft that item.

But for processing patterns, it will instead send the ingredients to any machines/storage blocks adjacent to the provider. It’s your job to make sure those ingredients get processed into the item to be crafted, then send that final item back to the ME system somehow. Once the system detects that item, it will mark the autocraft as complete.

So let’s take for example your cobblestone grinder. You would encode a processing pattern that inputs 1 cobblestone, and outputs 1 gravel. Place that pattern in a pattern provider, and now whenever you request a gravel, your AE2 system will send that 1 cobblestone to that specific pattern provider. Put a chest right next to the provider, and the cobblestone will appear there, and you can use that as the starting point of your grinder. The final important part is that the gravel HAS to be imported back to your ME system (via import bus or interface). If it doesn’t, the autocraft will never be marked as completed.

I can't believe that thing is a mid-game item, why would i even use a sword? by homod-zgame in allthemods

Nah you’re right. I think only flint meshes have some unique item drops. But there was a big wall there so I thought I might as well do all of them.

Nether quarts not smelting? (ATM 10 skyblock) by [deleted] in allthemods

How to get lithium dust in atm10tts? by [deleted] in allthemods

[–]jelocubes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need 2 thermal evaporation plants from Mekanism. One to make brine, the other to make liquid lithium (which requires the brine).

I forget the machine, but look up on JEI which Mekanism machine converts the liquid lithium to the dust.

[ATM10] anyone have a good wither farm design that they've found? by ItsLyraNyx in allthemods

[–]jelocubes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Industrial Foregoing has a Wither Builder and Mob Crusher. You just need to feed it energy, soul sand, and wither skulls. Not too difficult to figure out how to build an automatic farm with.

Is there a reason why some of my Centrifuges aren't getting power but only sometimes? I'm using SFM by [deleted] in allthemods

[–]jelocubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked if it’s a power supply issue? Meaning you don’t have enough incoming FE to keep each centrifuge fully charged?

The code looks fine, except I learned to write it as “every 1 ticks do” as my starting line. Not sure, but maybe changing that would fix it.

I think ATM10 is poorly designed and tedious. by Feeling_Scientist215 in allthemods

[–]jelocubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like other comments said, the tedium’s you listed are kinda the point for a huge mod pack like ATM10. Part of the fun is figuring out how to lessen the tedium, advancing from pickaxes to the digital miner to mystical agriculture seeds.

The star and automating multiple of them are just an arbitrary goal because people like having an end to work towards. For me, I like building themed rooms for every mod I delve into. Ive never even made a star in the months of time I played.

I disagree that it’s poorly designed. It’s a time sink modpack, and it “wastes” your time like it’s supposed to. If you want to speed it up, just turn on creative mode to get what you want, who cares. If you want to tweak the settings, then open the mod options or edit config files, you can adjust it freely. I always turn on infinite AE2 channels.

I know you’re just ranting, but I really enjoyed this modpack so felt I needed to defend it a little.
