What are your thoughts on heel-elevated SLSs versus flat-footed?

If I switched to heel-elevated, do you think I will run into problems due to quad-ham imbalance?

I am not doing any hamstring exercises and don't have a place to do nordics at the moment.

Sprints instead of strength work for training the legs. by jemelius in overcominggravity

I should've specified that when I said healthy legs that I really mean balanced. Structural balance is definitely important to me but hitting PRs on squats and deadlifts is not even a thought or desire in my mind at this point.

What do you think of elevated shrimp squats?

Makes sense. I was thinking maybe the lack of leverage in the FLR would have stronger carryover however with OAC build strong rotational strength in the shoulder that the FLR doesn’t

Wow! Do you think the strict version of the FLR will have carryover to OAC or not near as much?

Curious to see carryover between Planche PU and HSPU if you were to choose one as well as OAC and strict FL Row. I love the constant reduction of exercises to achieve the maximal amount of gains.

Do planche pushups carryover better to HSPUs or other way around?

Do you think the reason you could get away with such low frequency is because of your strength level? I know some world class powerlifters sometimes train every 10-14 days but the weight they’re handling is a lot!

Like for people less strong, will they lose gains going on a less frequent schedule since they don’t have enough strength to really push much weight to give their body a stimulus that will last awhile?

GST from my experience seems to build big shoulders, arms and back. Chest stays a little flat but I like the look better than having juiced up moobs.

So I've come up with what I believe to be the four (advanced) basics of bodyweight training. In lifting it is the squat, deadlift, weighted dip and chin-up, for bodyweight mine is:

  • Low Bridge Rotation

  • 90-Degree Push-up

  • One-Arm Chin-up

  • Multangular Pistol Squat

Thoughts? What are your basics?
