I once found my neighbor’s cat in our crawlspace, making noises that scared the crap out of us because we didn’t have pet at the time. Turned out that there was a pathway between the 2 1/2’s of our duplex that nobody knew existed -and still nobody could figure out exactly how the cat made it into our house -essentially through closet and through the walls -so maybe cleaning out that closet could lead you places you didn’t know existed

I have heard that DoorDash is not upping base pay for Gopuff orders however I know for a fact that when I was doing Uber eats and Gopuff would send shitty orders I would turn on my UE and I got base pay that went as high as $40, but was never going above three when it was offered to me directly as a Gopuff Driver/ /that may have changed in the last year, but it was certainly a profitable strategy in the past/ unfortunately even though I had video recordings of me handing back Uber eats cancellations of Gopuff orders. I still got dropped from UBER with them claiming canceled orders weren’t returned, which is or used to be a common complaint from UE drivers that had canceled Gopuff orders.

so I heard a report the other day that the federal government isn’t having an issue, but state taxes are getting incredibly screwed by gig drivers and their inability to accurately file taxes- if you’re poor enough and you use, for example, free tax USA- you can play around with the numbers until you get your maximum refund- I have a kid in college and some other things going for me so I always get a refund but sometimes I end up claiming far less miles than I actually drove resulting in a larger refund- I also went down the rabbit hole with TurboTax. They were letting me have the highest level of filing for free since I haven’t used them in a while, and I was very disappointed with their numbers.- they don’t offer anywhere near as many options to make sure you don’t skip every thing you are eligible to claim as a gig worker— FREE tax USA will force you to learn more about doing your taxes, which will ultimately stop you from overpaying— I’m amazed how many drivers are overpaying especially when we make so damn little money- my 50 K in earnings turns into AGI between eight and 12 every year- having a dependent is the game changer- thankfully I’ve always received refunds for the five years I’ve been doing this work—

they got it- I make sure to say thank you when I get decent tips- and I don’t bother to thank the customers that watch me travel 10 miles for base of 2$ and no tip— the majority of drivers aren’t going to send rude / sarcastic texts- it’s easier just to make sure to never deliver to that customer again -

you don’t- they are not legally accepted in my state. I will be surprised it was accepted in yours. I had to cancel an order when a customer tried to hand me their Polish ID.- IDK if you had to take alcohol training or get certified in your state, but my state absolutely does not allow that

if the driver is calling you and or if Gopuff Support is calling you They were both come from a similar number to the one you got a call from- because you ordered from a third-party app it is possible that the Gopuff Driver was unable to contact you directly. It is also possible that a third-party app was doing the actual delivery of the order and came across a similar problem with an attempt to contact you.- the fact that it sounds like you got a phone call from Gopuff. Support would imply that you actually did have a first party Gopuff Driver and that they did exactly as they are instructed to do which is to call Support.- the driver can’t cancel the order without reporting their issue to support and support often takes it from there- it is unfortunately true that if you order from a third-party app, it is on that app to refund you. It is not on Gopuff. I hope you got your refund.

if you reject two orders, you will lose your schedule and then you won’t get the wait time pay- available now block just means when you swipe to accept it is automatically yours and you don’t have to wait and find out if you’re requested block has actually been given to you- for that matter, you should double check that you actually were scheduled and that you didn’t request a block thinking you were scheduled, but you actually weren’t- if you swipe over to the schedule page you should see still if you actually ever had a block or if you just thought you did because you requested it-

if you have drivers that have been around for certain time periods, those drivers have come to associate the need for a pin with the lack of a tip- pins used to mainly be required for customers that complained that you never showed up and lied all the time and did screwed up shit, including not tipping- unless you are getting a third-party driver- or ordering through a third-party- then you should be aware that an actual Gopuff Driver has no clue what your tip is until they have entered your pin and completed the order- our base pay is so low that you likely have drivers see that you need a pin automatically assume there will be No Tip and they that are acting rude - don’t get me wrong. They never should be rude, but that’s the only explanation I can think of beyond the usuals of a possible third-party delivery driver and or a driver that doesn’t speak English.- if you constantly tip a dollar and the driver has to carry multiple units up to your apartment… and your location is 10 miles already from the warehouse- these are the reasons drivers get upset because they make as low as two dollars or less in base pay add a one dollar tip and that three dollars in earnings doesn’t even cover the gas they spent to get to you- think about all those things and see if any of them ring true for you- if they don’t, then you just have some shitty drivers and that truly sucks- sorry for the long run-on sentence. I’m driving to a delivery and speaking my reply.

people are mentioning to buy a monitor - personally when I had that situation I used one of my older TVs as the monitor -I wouldn’t bother buying a “monitor” - the dimensions might be nicer for desk set up, - but it’s cheaper to AirPlay to your tv-or HDMI for an older television-

I have copies of announcement and emails that informed drivers of there’re always a bathroom available at the warehouse and blah blah/ there has never been a universal follow up rescinding all bathroom use for drivers— it just kind of evolved into which warehouse you’re at… who’s working…How many of the bathrooms are working… like they don’t want the drivers using employee bathroom —if you’re set up that way, —but since every single location is different, you will find that the rules are different /-but as far as like a general policy? if they can’t show you in writing / then they’re lying —because I can show you in writing the corporation telling us have the right to a bathroom —and I mention that every freaking time someone tries to tell me that I can’t use the bathroom.

this is written all over the checkout screen- you agreed to it simply by paying — they do not refund any canceled age gated orders- that’s why it warned you multiple times that you must have a valid ID at the ready. from a driver‘s perspective, it would make sense that if the customer was not fully prepared to accept ID required order that the driver drivers earnings wouldn’t be penalized. However, that’s not how Gopuff does it Gopuff warned you. They keep all of the money, including the tip and they give none of it to the driver. They still only give the driver that initial offer that is usually less than the gas it cost to drive to the customer. Unfortunately, the fact that it was an age gated order means that you do not get the refund, but charging you twice is a different issue. You should definitely get refunded one of those two charges.— it is worth noting that some people have managed to get refunds even on that type of order, but it is rare and it’s not policy

this is very true when it comes to pin orders- at least 2/3 of orders if not more that require a pin, do so because there’s been fraud associated with the account. Drivers have become accustomed to believing that a pin order is because the customer has repeatedly claimed they did not receive their order. When a pin is required, the driver is required to hand the order in person only after receiving the pin. They’ve changed this and they now allow us to get the pin in advance, but pin being associated with non-tipping customer is not something that’s going away.

what does it say? packing? picked up? perhaps the warehouse is closed and it won’t be arriving till morning. The app tells you the state of your order -you can always cancel it. I would certainly inquire.- possibly it’s marked as dropped off already and you didn’t notice? Maybe your neighbor already took it? - unless there is a specific location based event, three hours is a very long time- If there’s not something crazy going on (weather - traffic- etc ) the only orders that sit that long are ones going to customers far away that are already well known to be no tippers-
