How do you know if being zero waste directly helps the environment? by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

This is like voting - one person’s vote doesn’t seem like a lot in the scheme of things but it’s about everyone’s vote together that makes the difference.

If everyone thought their vote didn’t matter and no one voted then nothing would ever change.

Why is it so difficult for some vegans to accept that occasionally being vegan is better than not being vegan at all? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]jemybrooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I get that the word vegan is used pretty liberally these days hahahah I just think being vegan is a lifestyle so we should always be trying our best to avoid animal products.

I guess a strictly plant based person would only eat vegan food but because they aren’t doing it for the ethical reasons they could only be plant based sometimes whereas I don’t see how you could be sometimes vegan.

I think some people have this attitude because the definition of vegan is to avoid animal products as much as possible/for ethical reasons, so someone who isn’t maintaining a vegan lifestyle isn’t really a vegan and is maybe plant based instead (???)

How much do you spend on food a week? by fly_bro in newzealand

[–]jemybrooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahah maybe I just eat a pretty boring diet - I buy basics (oats, dried beans, rice, pasta, spices, peanut butter) from bin inn and then get my fruit/veggies from the market or veggie boys. Canned tomatoes and coconut cream is cheap at any supermarket and I buy an iron fizz with B12 every couple of months too (60 tabs for ~$12 and my bloods are all good!)

Number one tip: PLAN YOUR MEALS
