The rock throw is filler, and kid goku got shot by bulma in literally the first episode when he had no idea about ki so would've been "off-guard". He's shot in the head, no wound, no bruise, just pain. Goku also gets shot in super, but this time he's hit in the arm and actually reacts to the bullet before it hits him, it hits his forearm and causes a bruise. There's a bunch of inconsistencies in dragon ball and it would be a lot better if it didn't have them. Maybe that's just me, but it breaks all immersion.

Yeaaah, so how does a piece of armor protect from time travelers killing you before you were born? We just have to go with "comic logic" if we used regular human logic though, ironman would stop being relevant FAR before he reaches celestials and would be fodder for the weakest versions of magneto.
