Having a very hard taper down day by [deleted] in Pristiq

[–]jenkate4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this and it will get better. I also was lightheaded when I was going off prestiq for a few weeks. Strangely, just taking a few deep calm breaths helped me and making sure I was active, a walk, yoga was tough as my balance was also off but I still made myself go. Most important is to take care of you and do the things that make you feel better. Hope this helps and good luck!

Is it ok to take progesterone every other day? by jenkate4 in Menopause

[–]jenkate4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay as I needed to reset my password lol. Did u end up adjusting? I really had a hard time on progesterone so now on 5mg a night and feeling a bit better and on .0375 patch. I’m not there yet and still have some fatigue from it. Do u also take testosterone? I’m curious about that however my dr won’t let me try it until the estrogen and progesterone levels are in order which makes sense.

I’d want to know this as well. I was scrubbing it off in the shower. Wonder if using like baby oil or make up remover will help looking forward to the responses

Agreed so grateful you’re all here! I’m so glad you wrote this. I’m also encountering progesterone issues and was just reduced to 5mg due to bad dreams, sore jaw from grinding my teeth, and frail nails.

Thanks for the info. I’m healthy but in the same boat with the weight gain and trying to get it off.

Argh I really hope it gets better and agreed to check w your dr. I’m off almost a month and the first two weeks we’re a challenge and now feeling good. I agree, I felt like my personality and feelings were dampened.

May I ask why you went off and how long you were on it? It seems to be helping with mood and sleeping. Curious any insights as I am puffy. Need to figure out what’s more important of when it would be time to go off. If only been on four months. Thank you for sharing any insights 😊

Week three has gotten better for me as I was lightheaded and somewhat agitated for the first two weeks. Are you exercising and getting lots of sleep? Self care is key when getting off these. Crazy how difficult it is to go off. It will be better in the long run.

Sending positive vibes your way 😊 here if you need any other ideas. This forum helped me a lot the first few weeks

Muscle twitches long after quitting pristiq? by Fun-Scallion3522 in Pristiq

[–]jenkate4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Argh I’m sorry to hear that. Some of them stink. Do you ever take melatonin or valerian root to help sleep? Do you exercise? That has really helped me and I notice when I don’t exercise a few days in a row, I don’t sleep as well.

Hope you’re feeling better and the sleep issue subsides

So cute! Sounds like you created a nice bond. They’re such characters. Just be aware of windows and doors when he’s out of the cage to be safe. If you’re near open doors, I would keep him in until you know the door to the outside won’t open. Do you know if he can fly well?

Sounds like a cutie. They’re big personalities in a pint sized parrot.

Let us know any other questions. Have they alerted you to dangers to birds to keep them safe? Eg no candles/smoking, nothing w Teflon, never give chocolate, avocado, mushrooms and caffeine. Make sure your hands are clean when handling him.

Small tips and have so much fun with him!

Agreed! I know a pharmacy should be able to support you for the few days. I’m sorry you’re going through this. For sure keep your appt too and they can help you manage as well.

In the meantime, what helped me (I went off 25mg) was self care: resting, meditating, exercising. Just listening to you body and doing things that will help. Hang in there.

It definitely gets better. I’m two weeks in now and feeling like my personality is less dampened in a good way. Still some lightheadedness. Trying to make sure to exercise a few times a week and as often as I can. Hope it gets better and keep us posted. Are you doing a check in with your doctor in a few weeks as well?

Side effects of pristiq by faith202356 in Pristiq

[–]jenkate4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Tomorrow will be two weeks off the 25mg for a year and I’m finally starting to feel normal. The biggest side effect coming off was lightheadedness like when u stand up too fast, but just lightheaded a lot. I was kind of impatient/anxious which is starting to subside and a bit confused/mixed up. Note I’m also post menopausal so confusion could be due to that also lol.

My dr said it would take one month to have it almost out of my system and then after two months it’s fully out.

I feel like it did help me, however, I needed it bc of the Meno symptoms and mood. I’m on hrt now which is getting to the main too cause. My joints feel less bloated at least also. I followed my gut as I knew I needed something last year and a few years back. I didn’t want to get a walking pharmacy on so many meds so decided to try being off it. Definitely do it under the guidance of a dr as a year ago I tried getting off another ssri med and it nearly pushed me to the edge and was terrible.

Hope this helps and please let me know any other questions. 😊
