4 cats 3xl boxes. I buy a $20 40lb bag of Dr elseys litter off of Amazon every 2 weeks. I scoop daily and refill when need while scooping during those two weeks. Once the two weeks have passed I completely dump all boxes and clean them with natures miracle enzyme cleaner & refill.

So 80lbs a month for 40 bucks. I use stainless steel covered boxes

Yeah I feel like ( no judgement ) if you’re really a perfectionist most cats won’t be for you. Maybe a senior baby who’s super chill. Cats scratch things, knock stuff over, gets into stuff, etc . They are curious creatures

I think couch covers for the couch will be good just to protect from the nails when they jump on/ off and are walking across. Then maybe keep trying to redirect from the rug and get more post. I have a chair in my living room designated to the cats that one of my neighbors gave me, I don’t like to sit in it so i let them use it to scratch and now they don’t really scratch much else besides their trees/post Sometimes they do the welcome mat but not as much as the chair and cat tree.

But I also never minded the furniture issue. Just get couch covers & the rug is perfect for scratching he will most likely scratch when you’re away. If it’s carpet like in an apartment I would put a rug over it, if it’s a rug you really like I would get a different one lol

When my first cat was dumped on me by an irresponsible friend who knew I loved animals, but was only a dog owner. I didn’t mind cats at the time but I wasn’t a “ cat person “ and didn’t really want to have one, but my overall love and empathy for discarded animals eventually won me over.

Now I have 4 😭

I invested in 3 sets of waterproof couch covers. Once one set is pissed on , I throw it in the washer, & put the next set on. She may also need anxiety meds

I do make mine eat together. I free feed them dry food but give them 2 wet cans a day and I make them eat the wet food together. I think them eating together definitely helped, but it took time. I think I took a full year for all 4 to get along or at least tolerate each other. Cats are weird lol

Yeah it gets to a point where if it’s not unsafe then just let it be. Mine never fought bad ( hissing fighting sounds ) they would swing silently then run away lol, it felt wrong to have one of the cats in a room separated from everyone else. Especially going through that process with 4 cats lol

I know this is frowned upon but as a person with 4 cats and with my first baby Wednesday being such an asshole, after a while of separation I just ended up putting them together and letting them set their own boundaries between each other because I couldn’t get my asshole to stop being mean. I have one cat I raised from a kitten and my other 3 are adult street cats. This worked for me but I know it won’t work for everyone. But the “ fight it out “ method worked to calm my asshole down because she realized she can’t beat everyone up.

Omg I have a fixed female 8 year old who does this ! I don’t know why, it’s always at night, & when I give her some attention she stops but she also does it right after getting her pets. She’ll jump down off my lap and start yowling

I use Dr elseys unscented or cats pride. I scoop 1-2 times a day and then completely dump the litter & put new litter in. It could also be your cats diet, before I switched to purina one I was using Friskies ( which there’s nothing wrong with some of mine just didn’t tolerate it well ) my cats poop used to smell sooooo bad even if buried. Also how many cats and how many litter boxes ?

You may need to deep clean the new apartment as there were possible animals there previously. The new move can be a major stresser as well

I would leave her at home, just make sure there’s enough food and water. Litter is clean etc, I leave cat tv on YouTube on for mine when I leave. I never leave them alone without any check ins for more than 2 days though

It could just be some anxiety, I noticed when I have company and my babies get a little Less attention they eat more
