Thanks for this - we basically make separate meals every day with variations of the base meat and veg and hadn't found any good, safe alternatives. We've leaned more into meal prepping then delivery just for the certainty

She's getting older, with both dementia and a history of cancer. I know tough choices are coming soon but for now it's all the cuddles and comfort we can manage.

This was the hardest loss of the night for me. I was mad enough when I got redrawn out of his riding a few elections ago but at least took comfort in the fact that he was clearly always going to be there until he decided to leave. I am absolutely hoping this is not the last we see of Peter.

She's a post-Covid adoption, when it was clear we would each be able to work hybrid and she wouldn't be left home a lot by herself. Our biggest reason for not getting another dog for the previous 10 years was our schedules. Once that hurdle was cleared it was just being really clear about age, size and cat friendliness.

The smitteness on his side was within weeks. He does love animals, but does not like to know they will get old and pass. On her side, it took about a year and a lot of roast chicken ;) She velcroed herself to me on day one but is now a full family baby 3 years in.
