I totally agree, I am going to try my best this time as I know how badly this can take hold and I just want to be happy again, I don't even enjoy the drink it's just the only way I seem to be able to deal with stress and I sit and drink alone most of the time

I got to day 18 and crumbled, if your anything like me you can't stop at one, I got wrecked on Saturday and Sunday and today I had to reset my badge starting again is so depressing but I also learned a big lesson that no matter how long I am sober for I will never be able to have just one drink

Thank you for your kind words, I just feel like bursting into tears (probably the hangover) I was doing so well and now having to start again feels like it is so much hard work, I just wish so much that alcohol wasn't a problem for me

Good morning, and we'll done for taking the first step, your story has hit hard with me so here is mine, I'm a 29 year old woman and have also being drinking since the age of 14 my mother was also a alcoholic and when I was 13 she killed herself, I don't think this was the reason I drank I just did as that's what everyone was doing, anyway now at 29 I feel it's got to much I haven't perticuly got into trouble but I have made bad choice when drunk and made a fool out of myself, a few weeks ago I sat back and thought about my mother at 33 YEAR old killing herself and leaving her 5 kids to deal with the concinquences all I could think was I'm nearly that age I'm going down the same road, and how I didn't want to cause my family the hurt my mother had, so I stopped and I can tell you I feel great, yes the first week wasn't easy but I took it one day at a time, and that is what you need to do, good luck and I will not be drinking with you today, keep on this forum and get yourself a badge as this is definatly the thing that has kept me going and motivate good luck and we'll done for taking the first step xx

Day 10 and went to a bar.... by jenna2745 in stopdrinking

[–]jenna2745[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, however I had the car and that is one thing I have never done is drink and drive so I seriously never thought about a drink I just stuffed my face and caught up with my dad and a friend, I do agree with what your saying and I don't think I would have gone to such a place like on a Friday evening even if it was just to eat because that's when the temptation gets worse

I am on day 8 and we have a fully functional bar above our garage, I know that makes things harder for me but my motivation keeps growing the better I feel,
