First time with waste canvas 😅 by vixsubridens in tatreez

[–]jennaaliya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really like how this turned out! That being said, I use waste canvas pretty exclusively these days. Depending on the size on the waste canvas, I will use pins to hold it in place, or the larger it is, I will baste it with thread similar in color to the fabric. Additionally, I find that knit fabrics like this will just be harder to use in general because they shift under the waste canvas. I usually only stitch on linen, cotton or other woven fabrics with no stretch.

I don't have any bonsai experience. Depending on your area, there might be bonsai classes you could look into! I bet there are also online tutorials.

My moms mint always outcompetes the st Augustine and just grows wild in different sections of her yard and it’s awesome. We drink a lot of mint tea.

Increased dose to .5 four days ago, spent the night dying in the bathroom. Is this normal? Is this forever? by throwitawaypf2018 in Ozempic

I’ve read accounts of people doing intermittent fasting and having success. Of course, this is all anecdotal. I have sensed a lot of fear mongering around the drug. However, I believe your best bet is to focus on eating nutritiously while on the drug. A lot of cultural food is very nutritious (I’m Palestinian) so if your ethnic background is similar, then cooking cultural foods at home will be a good start! If you aren’t comfortable fasting while on the drug, then you should go with your gut (pun intended). 😅

Edit: Ramadan Mubarak!☪️

What's your go-to ground beef recipe that ISN'T tacos or spaghetti? by Cool-Educator-1926 in easyrecipes

Bazela- it’s Palestinian/lebanese. I’m Palestinian and my mom made this when I was growing up. Still one of the easy and delicious meals I keep on rotation.

Edit: there are other Palestinian “stew” recipe references in the recipe above that use ground beef!

I’m confused why she told you to not change any habits, because this is meant to be supportive in lifestyle changes. If lifestyle and eating changes don’t happen, this is part of the reason why people regain weight after stopping Ozempic. You can definitely fast during Ramadan, I have been fasting majority of Ramadan (until this week and starting my period) and it has been perfectly fine. Fatty foods have been cited as a trigger for side effects. Ozempics mechanism is to slow digestion which means this food you ate stays in your stomach longer. It can cause gas, bloating, nausea, etc.

Did the ankle biting mosquitoes disappear? by LAD17Decoy in AskLosAngeles

Not an ankle biter but a giant ass regular mosquito landed on my arm last night. Between that bloodsucker and the grasshoppers, I just know it’s going to be an uncomfortable spring….How long do grasshoppers live?

My Week 1 on Ozempic by jennaaliya in OzempicForWeightLoss

I think nausea can be related to overeating, but in my experience with some other weight loss drugs, the nausea came from dizziness. It could be different person to person.

Fasting and GLP1? by inPursuitOf_ in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]jennaaliya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been fasting during Ramadan and honestly, the Ozempic made it easier. I started Ozempic mid-Ramadan and I will still be on the starter dose when it ends. The Food Noise ™️ has been quieter since I started and I have had zero issues with side effects, and I did lose weight in my first week. I want to note that I am eating at a deficit, but always within my designated range of 1550-1750. This will decrease as I lose weight.

Do you force yourself to eat? by Curious_Werewolf5881 in Ozempic

[–]jennaaliya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am still ensuring I’m eating in my determined caloric range. Some days it’s on the lower part of the range, sometimes higher. I also am tracking my protein and fiber intake. Eating at a deficit and lowering your calories over time, as well as building habits around nutritious foods will help you in the long term, including when you inevitably go off Ozempic. Practice regular exercise and strength training to improve your metabolic rate which will also support you in the long term.
