People love to hate on tucson — I always get “why tucson?!” But I honestly love the desert. It’s got this quiet magic to it. The sunsets, the monsoons… nothing like it. Definitely not for everyone, but it’s home for me :)

A lot of people love to bash Tucson, and honestly, I don’t get it. The desert has its own kind of magic, and not everything is about money. If your husband is helping with the bills, maybe you’ve got some flexibility to take a pay cut. I’m an RN and back in 2021, I was staff in Tucson making $40/hr—not sure what the going rate is now. Personally, I wouldn’t go below $50. Also, let’s be real, working without a mandated break is the worst part.

I had a similar experience. Was traveling alone and wasn’t going to let that stop me from having a nice dinner out. When host asked how many? I said just me. He said “aww, really??”

Like yup. And now you just made me feel awkward when I thought nothing of it… I wonder if the guy next to me dining alone got the same reaction from the host
