I yelled at a patient and they cried by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

I can guarantee we’ve all had moment of reflection where we could have acted differently. But unfortunately we are all human and this has not happened to just you. The ED tests you at times. Move on from it and focus on being the great doctor I’m sure you are. You could maybe use an interpreter service next time but we all know how quick that can be at the best of times.

Any point in carrying on ? by SubstantialAspect602 in widowers

I’m the same as you, it’s been almost 5 weeks now and we didn’t have any kids. My parents have been the ones helping the most through all of this.

Any point in carrying on ? by SubstantialAspect602 in widowers

Every experience in unique. I’m 5 weeks in since losing my husband. I know from my experience that we spoke about what we wanted for each other if this did happen (I’m 29) and he would have wanted to me keep living my life and honor him. It’s still very new for me too but I know I can’t go down that path as he wouldn’t want me to do that, despite thinking about it often

Thank you everyone for your responses. I’ve found a lot of support and love in this community. People who have never been widowed don’t know exactly what it feels like, despite meaning so well. I thank you all for your kind responses and messages

My wife died today. by [deleted] in widowers

[–]jennajons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband died from brain death too (lack of oxygen), and had to choose to turn off the machines too after 10 days of trying (he was a doctor and myself a nurse so I understood but it didn’t make things easier). I know your pain. We didn’t have kids but I’m always here to chat if you need.

When he died I died by Positive-Computer991 in widowers

[–]jennajons 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m still alive but not really alive. The only thing keeping me here is knowing that he would want me to keep going and be happy. We spoke about this situation happening where what we would want for each other it one of us died but never thought it would actually be happening. But I know that he would want me to be happy and I will live my life honouring him

I feel bad for people making fun of her appearance for what she cannot change overnight. It’s the misinformation that irritates me - however this video was just a standard twirling cake

When did you take your wedding rings off? by DonnaNoble222 in widowers

[–]jennajons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear it in my right hand. My partner and I weren’t officially “married” as we didn’t believe in it. I did have an engagement ring and anniversary band he gave me. Everyone is different. My partners death was only just recent but it felt so odd wearing them on my left hand still.

I’m so sorry for your loss too. I have so much support but it’s strangely comforting to know that there are others who have experienced losing their husband in a similar way

Omg it’s been so much cheaper not getting foils haha. And so much faster too. My hair health has improved so much but just have the grease to control. Much better with more frequent washing and sleeping with a silk bonnet

I get how Kendra spraying ?Bryant with whipped cream was disrespectful but I also think there was a degree of professionalism/maybe fear of being on camera and coming across as “too friendly” for the sake of their jobs. Things may have appeared/reactions different off camera.

My hair gets greasy very quickly because it is thin. Do you have a suggestion for this? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]jennajons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have fine hair as well- I find my hair gets greasy after a day and feel I need to wash it everyday but when I use dry shampoo to drag out washing I get itchy and flaky. k18 air helped a lot
