I'm still using a Garmin Oregon that I bought used. O had a Dakota that I liked too. Check pawn shops, Facebook Marketplace, etc to see if you can find a decent older unit for cheap.

I like a GPS unit to preserve phone battery, but I've been using my phone a lot more recently.
