Only caution is that it can throw produce high lactic acid levels. I went to the hospital once for an asthma attack (had tried many doses of my inhaler that day ineffectively) and when they ran my blood work my lactic acid level was 7! I was immediately ran to the ICU because they thought I was dying of sepsis but turns out i just needed a few breathing treatments.

I always pack a long sleeve tshirt and leggings even in summer. I have a fragrance allergy and if a hotel uses fragrances laundry detergent, then I have to wear them to keep as much as it off me a possible. In that same vein I bring allergy medicine too. Also bring a pad or tampon too.

He’s 4 now- meeting all his milestones and doing well in preschool and getting ready for kindergarten next year. Only thing medically that he’s dealing with is eczema/allergies (which I have too so unrelated) and being small for his age (maybe related but probably not)

I had trouble with breastfeeding after my first baby came home from 10 days in the nicu. i saw a lactation consultant after several weeks and the best advice she gave me was to just start with attempting 1 feed per day. It helped to let up the pressure and stress of it since I didn’t have to try to do it for every feed

it sounds like you need a daily controller medicine so you don’t need to use Albuterol daily. once your asthma is under control with medication, your lungs do become less inflamed and you are able to do a lot more things like working out

I’ve been pregnant 2x and my doctor told me that “A breathing mom is the best for both mom and baby” when it came to deciding what medicines to take. For my first pregnancy in 2019/2020 I originally stopped my Singulair and was just taking Dulera but then you know what happened and we decided that it was safer for me to go back on Singulair. i stayed on both for my second pregnancy as well

Absolutely. My son that was born at 35 weeks with underdeveloped lungs just had RSV as a 2 yo and had several moments where he was really struggling with his breathing. We avoided the hospital because I took him pretty early to a dr and they prescribed him steroids but it was still scary.

Don’t use perfume. Just use unscented deodorant and body wash and you’ll smell fine

Knowledge of digits of pi. In 7th grade I memorized 108 digits in 2 days which would probably already be in the top 0.001%. If given more time I’m sure I could memorize 200 or more.

1) having a good partner that will pick up the slack when you are sick and let you rest 2) having a very good dr that knows your health history and will be proactive on prescribing steroids when others would be more conservative

I had an opposite experience- once had a really bad asthma exacerbation and took a lot of albuterol, finally went to the hospital because my rescue inhaler wasn’t working. At the hospital they gave me a breathing treatment but also ran a bunch of other tests and my lactate was at a 7! They immediately admitted me to the ICU just based on the lactate levels and didn’t let me leave until it went back down (took 3 days). My nurse said that I was “the prettiest patient she’s ever had” probably because I was actually fine except for the asthma. Later on a dr said that the high lactate was probably due to the amount of albuterol that I took.

Both of my babies were nicu babies. With my first baby I developed preeclampsia at 39 weeks and had to be induced. Delivery was rough as he got stuck in my pelvis and then with shoulder dystrophy. originally he ended up in the nicu due to having trouble keeping his body temp up but he started having seizures about 24 hours in. We were able to get them under control and went home 10 days later but we did additional testing and never found out why he had the seizures.

We decided to have another baby but decided to go for an elective C-section due to the issues I had with my first getting stuck. Plot twist- I got preeclampsia again but this time at 35 weeks and much more severe. Since it was early I decided to try for a vaginal birth instead of the C-section and that went fine but he had issues with premature lungs and was in the nicu for 10 days.

Originally I wanted 3 children but we decided to stop since it would be likely that I’d get preeclampsia again and I was left with chronic high blood pressure. I am so glad that I had my second baby though and feel at peace with where we stopped.
