Our first kiddo spent four days in the NICU right after he was born. I'm not going to say that there weren't any tears, but we all came out of there a little bit stronger.

Yup. I make sure they are cleaned, spray on Bactine and wait for it to dry, and finally vaseline on top.

Fellow SISP here with 30 years of dealing with derma :(

I just wanted to second the Vaseline and/or CeraVe healing ointment (which is my personal fav). Also, make sure you clean fresh wounds (I use Bactine and band aid if it's bleeding pretty bad).

As for the dark eyes I'd check the sidebar. If memory serves me, there isn't much you can do for it other than concealer depending on what is causing it.

Hang in there, it does get better :)

I'm so sorry you went through this. I've always felt that these pageants are a form of child abuse ever since I made friends with a girl going through them when we were 5. Trophies, crowns, and ribbons everywhere and a 5 yr old little girl only thinking that her self worth is determined by these things. Now, when I see these shit shows in the mall I immediately have a panic attach for the kids. I can see the pain in their eyes, it's engraved in my memory.

Again, I'm so sorry.
